France rejects veiled Muslim wife

Most comprehensive survey to date of Muslim opinion in Britain. The results from NOP Research, broadcast by Channel 4-TV on August 7, 2006 are startling
- "hardcore Islamists" constitute nine percent of the British Muslim population. A slightly more moderate group is composed of "staunch defenders of Islam." This second group comprises 29 percent of the British Muslim population.
- Forty-five percent say 9/11 was a conspiracy by the American and Israeli governments.
- When asked, "Is Britain my country or their country?" only one in four say it is
- Thirty percent of British Muslims would prefer to live under Sharia (Islamic religious) law than under British law.
- Twenty-eight percent hope for the U.K. one day to become a fundamentalist Islamic state.
- Seventy-eight percent support punishment for the people who earlier this year published cartoons featuring the Prophet Mohammed
- Sixty-eight percent support the arrest and prosecution of those British people who "insult Islam."
- When asked if free speech should be protected, even if it offends religious groups, 62 percent of British Muslims say No, it should not.
- The scary reality is that only three percent of British Muslims "took a consistently pro-freedom of speech line on these questions."

Right, I am well documented on this site of being pretty scathing of polls. Both pools that support my POV and oppose it.
I absolute hate it when people take a sample of a few thousand people and extrapolate that to mean "everyone thinks this".
It simply does not work like that
I mean you, yourself said you voted for ther BNP in the recent scoobynet "who would you vote for?" poll and that I shouldn't take polls so literally......
WHo's "their"? And is that a refelction on Muslims, or how they have been demonised?

By contrast, the U.K. embraced taxpayer-subsidized multiculturalism and has paid a very dear price, indeed. The result — cultural apartheid — has encouraged a significant number of Muslims to exhibit more loyalty to fellow Muslims outside of the U.K. than to their fellow Britons.

To be fair....
Lisawrx isn't here to fight the corner for all things Muslim, she's pointing out that to label a wide group of people due to the actions of a few is absolutely 100% wrong!
Muslims have lived in the UK for many, many years.... a lot longer than most can probably remember.... we've also currently have young British Muslim soldiers fighting in Afghanistan and Iraq.... I'm guessing they're "good" Muslims then!
We've Muslim members on this very board..... and most of us have Muslim friends or acquaintances that we like and even respect.... this whole Muslims want to change us/our laws is absolute bollox, media fear mongering on the back of a couple of evil bombings perpetrated by idiots on the back of a twisted interpretation of the Koran!
So feckin what if they want to cover themselves from head to toe.....

1. Have I ever preached anything about my religious beliefs on here?
2. Have I ever condoned any of the atrocities shown on TV?
Contrary to belief a large majority of muslims born and bred in the UK are very sympathetic to the country. Put it this way, would you want some low life breaking into your house and stealing your stuff? no!
Same applies here, I was born and bred in this country, it's my home and the last thing I want is some lowlife trying to ruin the way of life for me, my children and everyone else.
Hate breeds hate... This has more to do with racism than being ant-islamic but thats a whole different debate. The irony is if you were to walk up to the "average" british white person and asked him/her the difference between the diffferent asian people, he/she would simply label all of them under one box oblivious to the fact that those very people are of mixed beliefs (Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Buddishim etc).
Everyone has their right to saying what they want so I am not here to attack those people bashing my personal belief but to ****ing sit there and assume you know anything is just protentious and the one ****ing thing wrong with this country right now - people assume too much but don't actually do their homework... idiots.
I loved the community spirit on here but no lately, sorry.
Here's a thing, I go out and about every single day. And I see lots of Muslim people, espcially when I am up in the big smoke.
Somehow, I have never, ever, ever had any problem whatsoever with a Muslim person.
Now according to your polls and opnion, I should be getting accosted, bombed, put under sharia law and tortured every single time I go out my front door.
Well, fact is, they're wrong. The vast majority of Muslims are ordinary law abiding people. How can we tell? Well, mainly by the fact that there aren't thousands of them arrested every single day.

The chavs sitting in my local park terrorising the neighbourhood should be labelled as terrorists, instead Mr Brown gives them a slap on the wrist so they can go out and stab the **** out of some poor guy.
I am one of those, I have been a member of SN for quite a while now but let me ask any of you guys on here a few things:

2. Have I ever condoned any of the atrocities shown on TV?

Also, call for some beheadings and sharia law.
