Not long had the red arrows turning over the house, woohooo! - I have a fairly good view of the flightline in the distance and can certainly hear everything! Plus the acadamey are out on the ranges today so it's fairly noisy in Owlsmoor! A good day to be working from home

You're quite correct Les. It used to be the 3rd week in September. This is the 2nd year its been in July, and was moved due to the ( hopefully ) better weather in July and a request from TAG aviation who now own Farnborough airport.

I should be going next Sunday for my first trip to Farnborough. I'm looking forward to it, especially seeing XH558. The last time i saw her was at West Malling, and that's been a housing estate for the last god knows how many years!

just been to the airfield to get some pics/vids of all the F's
Sadly ive got a compact digial camera thats far too slow to take pics. But i did get a great one of the F22 as it floated on the spot and also vid of it vertical hovering above me

Got back home about 4:20, flying display was 2 till 4.
Highlights were:
A380. How can something so big, be so quiet and fly so slow.
F22Raptor.
F18 Hornet.
Typhoon.
Lo-lights.
I had my ray bans on and now look like a panda. 'Spose I'll have to go again tomorrow.
Now, is it just me, or is Farnborough not what it was?
No Migs
No Sukhoi
No Harrier.
No Tornado.
No Raphael.
No Gripen
Shame to say it but I think it's slowly being watered down, ready to be stopped. I wont be going this weekend, it's not worth the admission any more.

cloudy today, good job i went down yesterday clear sky & sun.
One would hope the whole show will be on on sat but it did seem strange the the client show was half the length & had half the aircraft mentioned.

No, it's an F22. It "hovers" vertically, as Stef said, using thrust vectoring.
I was next to The swan pub yesterday, and can assure you it was an F22, not the JSF.
Watch this video. At around 1.30 you can see it at the end of the hover, then it slowly falls backwards and rolls over.
