Our R33 GTST (rear wheel drive) Skyline drift car came third at the 4th round at Santa Pod last week, we swapped the tyres, and the car was trailed straight out to Germany from the Pod (I drove through the night). I did four hot laps in total and managed a 7.57 in traffic with a passenger (so 80+ kilo of ballast). Thats on Apex coilovers so it gives some idea of their versitility. Absolutely zero chassis, damping or alignment adjustments, nothing. We changed the wheels, fitted number plates, bolted the original bootlid on and went. 3rd in drifting, sub 8 minute round ring, in traffic! Vid to follow if anyones interested.

Smokey Skyline from 4th EDC round at Santa Pod on Saturday

Then straight to Nurburgring and out on Sunday

I've PM'ed you Bren, but am very very interested in a set of these for my 2005 STI.....is the group buy still on?

I'd be wanting the extended adjusters, so I guess I wait for the new shipment?? Suits me fine actually as I will be going away to work on August 5th and won't be back until Sept 4th

Can we specify black/gold?? I think they look the dawgs

Sorry guys, email notification isnt working so I didnt know there were replies.

You can specifcy spring weight to a degree. We wont go softer than 5/4kg.mm as you will need additional damper travel to prevent the unit bottoming out. I have a prototype kit coming on the next sea order with 4/3kg.mm spring rates and longer travel to test.

The group buy is still on. We already have the numbers so are just processing and shipping orders for kits in stock (basically 200 onwards).

All coilovers are now being sent with extender adjusters as standard. The next batch (and all subsequent kits) will also include rear camber adjustable top mounts to compliment the fronts

You can specifcy colour as long as availability isnt an issue. I dont think we will buy in the Apex black red scheme again as BC already have a good name in the worldwide Subaru market so it makes sense to work with the current strongest brand awareness

Before i make my order just a few questions just to make sure im getting the right set up maybe me being stupid but what set up would be the best . i want full ajustable suspension?which i think this is but one post makes me unsure, also whats the difference between inverted and normal?
I only really use the car at the weekends and some hard country road blasts or track use so im looking at the 6/5kg.mm or would i be better off with the 5/4kg.mm? sorry for all the questions just want to do it right.

Id go with 5/4 for country road use. If you drive on really knarly roads then you might want to wait for the up and coming 4/3s. I havent tried inverted against normal back to back but Id go with normal for road work.

Yep, no problem, springs are £20 a piece. You can buy some 5s, fit your rears to the front and the 5s to the back so you only need to buy one extra pair of springs

Theyre £69 a pair. We will have some in stock next week.

Theres going to be a slight delay on the GC8s. The manufacturers have sent them as a seperate batch to the main shipment. The main shipment is now in the UK as planned and is on target to be with us next week. The GC8 kits will follow, theres going to be a couple of weeks delay I hope this doesnt put anyone out too much?

The 01-07 and 05+ STi have just about sold out now. We dont have any more of the 01-07 nor the 05+ STi on order so if you want some then you need to get in sooner rather than later.

At the moment we only have the following left on the shelf and ready to go:

1x GC8 inverted - normally £849 - £636.75 on the GB
3x 05+ STi - normally £649 - £486.75 on the GB
1x 01-07 - normally £649 - £486.75 on the GB

Im putting the next order together now but it wont be here for another 8-10 weeks.

We have the following guys down for GC8:

1: stoorty
2: scubbay
3: AdamJ
4: G8RDK

can anyone confirm whether or not the HKS hyper D's i have are far too harsh for normal road use ????

i have some on my classic and it seems to bounce everywhere on the road, a real bone shaker!!

If there is no improving them then i would like to join the group buy for some coilovers.

Can anyone help me please ????

Thanks
Chris.

Just so you guys know, we can supply these kits for a wide range of vehicles, not just Imprezas. If you or your mates want a set of another car then just ask.

Just a quick question, not dealt with coilovers before, so might sound daft.

Do these all come built up, so a simple case of swopping the existing legs over for these.

Also will the car be OK to drive untill the geo settings can be made?

Yep you just swap the entire struts over and then set ride height to where you want it. It will be fine to drive to the alignment place.

Bren - Just to confirm before I call and order a set.

GC8 with 5/4 springs (Road use)

1 - Are they the "normal" ones ie, NON-Inverted?
2 - Do they come with the Rear adjusters and the newly-added rear camber adjustable mounts?
3 - Are they still £486.75?

If all 3 answers are yes - COUNT ME IN! - I'll order ASAP!
