unless your a perfect specimen and lets face it who is we open ourselves up to being called names, whether your bald, tall, short or fat, sometimes you have to take it as banter - unless of course its meant in a malicious way.

If i got upset everyone called me fat boy or silverback then i'd be smacking people every two minutes - heck its a daily p*** take where i work but you cant let things annoy and upset you like that.

if people get upset over namecalling that stems back to childhood then i personally think it runs a bit deeper and they need to see someone who can help them.

I'll get ripped to pieces for a few weeks when i get my specs but at least i wont be getting called silverback, fatlad, etc etc.

LMFAO @ the sensitive speckys.

I alternate between lenses (for sport) and glasses (the rest of the time) and couldn't give a flying if someone wants to attempt to insult me. Stop being so bloody sensitive!

Everyone knows that people who wear glasses are way way happier, cleverer, richer and get laid more!

As we get older there is a high chance that we'll all need some form of glasses in order to read etc..

Although I appreciate the way some SNetters may feel about the words "four eyes" I also think that they should take it in the tongue in check way the Chief intended rather than getting all upset about the thread title... as if you think about it there is a lesson here about name calling, as in be careful as one day that name you're so keen to use, may soon be used about you!

But either way I fail to see why any infractions have been dished out on this thread... even for KoT!

Thats who I went to, and they are quite good, once you've got to know which lenses you need, you can go anywhere with the prescription, I went to specsavers and got 2 4 1, 2 nice pairs of Ralp Lauren frames, one set tined (driving at work) and a normal set, they do some good offers Those were £125 for 2 pairs, and nice frames too.

Now I seem to have to wear them all the time, looking into contact lenses, laser eye surgery just ***** me up tbh, the thought of it going wrong, even if the chances are quite low...

I wonder if the person who gave the infractions will own up and justify their actions!?

Wasn't me - but c'mon, if you post something that has the potential to p*ss off that many people, you can't act all surprised when someone takes offence.

What if I said 'people with hearing difficulties are tw@ts' - would that be OK?

Fair enough, but don't you think 1 infraction would have done for the first post. Or do you think they got doubly offended reading it a scond time?

They very rarely have the ***** to stand up and be counted ...... an invisible infraction suits a coward perfectly. So don't hold your breath! And that's from me - a speccy 4 I's

says eclaire who got upset at the name calling on the other thread ( ginger irn bru smelling haggis etc etc ) now ive been infracted for much the same thing as name calling so if there were any disabled people reading this thread four eyes and spaz are going to get you infracted as much as cnot ,tw@t bstard etc etc
thats why i never call anyone on here as you get a second name under your user name (banned)

I didn't get upset, I was merely pointing out a fact. And secondly, you'll notice I didn't infract. So you can hardly tar me with the same brush as our phantom infractor.

Sounds like some people are more hurt and upset by getting an infraction than others

I've been wearing glasses since I was five and learned a long time ago that you cant kick the crap out of everyone who calls you a "speccy git"

I know, ive tried! As I teenager I used to kick the crap out anyone who called me that and the amount of pairs of specs I went through might have something to do with the crisis in the NHS during the 1980's. I was that kid with the glasses held together with cellotape.

These days I just let it wash over me along with the insults about my age, weight, choice of car, choice of phone, etc......

My lass got some nice reading glasses a little while back, I still call her four eyes in jest.

She recently, well on Friday, had on op on her hand so I've been calling her all sorts; spacker hand etc.

She takes it as meant, in jest.

The Chief was poking fun at himself in his OP, FFS. Someone seem's to have had a sense of humour faliure.

You have got to be joking. That would make them look exactly what they are, humourless saddos

The OP was poking fun at himself, no one else.

I have no time for this infraction milarky, reminds me of school. I quite enjoyed school, I just didn't like the lessons
