worth noting that if you're going to fully strip the block you don't actually need to remove the pistons from the block before splitting it. Just leave them in the block halves, and push them out from underneath once apart.

wright guys bit of an up date with some progress
had my block and piston back from bore/ hone and i have cleaned and cleaned it till i could not clean it no more
then gave it a jet wash and some engine cleaner then blasted it with my air line on it then left it dry out before giving it a lick of heat proof aluminum paint
block had sealer ect on so removed every thing i could

[IMG][/IMG]

[IMG][/IMG]

removed all the oil way plugs and any other bolts to give it a good clean

[IMG][/IMG]

could have spent alot of time on the block to get a good finish but you will hardely see it when every thing is on it so did not see the point, but i think it looks ok

[IMG][/IMG]

[IMG][/IMG]

[IMG][/IMG]

[IMG][/IMG]

then was left to dry over night

so after it was all dry i put the acl race bearings ( mains ) on to the block and then got my nice new shiny crankshaft and manely rods with arp 2000 bolts and acl race bearings (big end)
the rods were done up very tight and had to be put in a vice with a rag to undo them but got there in the end rods then were put on the crank with lube and done up to the spec that was provided with the rods

[IMG][/IMG]

[IMG][/IMG]

then the crank was offered up to the block and then sealed with sealant and then all bolts were thread locked and new dowty seals and then done up to right spec

[IMG][/IMG]

[IMG][/IMG]

[IMG][/IMG]

[IMG][/IMG]

every thing is turning smooth and free and rotates easy so pistons ect.. next
