right guys i got the down pipe wrapped and fitted today and also managed to blead the clutch and then finished off fitting all the little bits connected the battery and had the crank sensor and cam sensor disconnected with no plugs in then cranked the engine to get oil pressure but
after turning it over for a bit it never put the light off so took the oil pressure switch of again and filled with oil AGAIN and left it for awhile before filling it again then turned over by hand a few times then fitted the pressure switch back
about 15 seconds of turning and i had oil pressure
fitted the plugs and checked afew things and thought lets start it

and it started straight away sounded great and smooth but cuts out if i don't push the ac peddle in and out but think this is because i need to set the power fc up as it's still running on the old 2.0 map

only took some pic's of my 3" true down pipe before i wrapped it and will get some pic's and maybe a vid when i get it running right

im very happy

hi john,
jolly green monster has always mapped my car and has always done a great job so will hopfully have him to fit a simtek and map it for me so my apexi power fc and apexi avcr will then be up for sale

but just need to get it running right first so i can get it taxed and mot then run in also had a quote for insurance with the new spec of the car and everything declared and came to 250 more than i was paying last year so think that was good as there has been alot done and that was with greanlight

I have been watching this thread as Zen are currently building mine to a similar spec. Congrats on getting it running!

Do you mind me asking how old you are? I am impressed your insurance only went up £250 and hope you are a similar age and my increase might be about the same. Was the car modded before?

How do you go about getting the log book changed to the correct engine size? Guessing there is a form at the post office.

How about that NUR Spec R matey? Doesn't it sound good

Congrats on getting it started. If you've got the PFC and commander just up the idle slightly and it should idle fine. Also check the throttle position sensor. Again if you have the comander do a sensor check on it and you should see the voltages that everythings giving out.

hi mate, im 31 and it had modz before that was all on the insurance so thats why it may be only 250 more

just had a fiddle with the power fc and changed the air flow setting to option and it runs fine well just for now anyway think i will have to turn everything down and set a rev limit for running but not sure if to start it once more leave it run to temp then drop the oil for fresh new running in oil

next oil change then will be around 200 miles then which i will then go from the millers running in oil to a cheap halfrauds semi till i reach the 1000 + miles

also checked for any leaks from engine but all seams fine only leak(very small
) is from gearbox seal on drivers side but think this is down to me fitting the stub axle dry and it moved or damaged the seal but should be easy fix i hope

hi utaka, thanks for the nice comment and hope once run in and mapped with simtek hopfully around 490 + as the guy i had the turbo off was running 490 bhp on a 2.2 with just v power so anything like that power + would be great as i have worked hard on it and spent lots of time and money

it's still not finished yet tho as i have bonnet vents to go on and get that sprayed also have to fit my p1 type fog with pipe and once run in fit my oil cooler and want to fit a roll cage and re trim the interior to promote my upholstery business that im in as i will just be using it for meets/ shows/track days etc...

so think the thread will be still going on for awhile yet

sounds pretty healthy looks a really nice well planned and executed build, will definately make people want to have a look. ive gone for a fully forged 2.3 with rotated turbo and cosworth parts and solaris ecu with all the trimmings, i really hope it gets a healthy reliable unstrained 550 bhp.
good luck ill keep watching

Top job Lee, Looking forward to having a good look see under the bonnet. It's taking a lot of time and effort but fair play to you.

I'll be after some door cards being retrimed once I've paid for my rebuild, so we'll have a chat at the next meet

Hopefully i'll be picking mine up in a couple of weeks and then it's the magic 1000 miles to get out of the way.

I'm thinking of run up to scotland in a weekend to get it out of the way!!!!!
