New VW Scirroco

Probably will be the car to have in 2009. Why VW don't offer some exciting colours for the leather I don't know . Anyway, stop kidding yourself. You're going to wait. You know you are. You just don't want to. However, I have 10p that says you won't get it until next year. The dealer obviously lied to you from the start and I bet final delivery will slip into Jan/Feb which will leave you grumbling that you're only going to have the newest reg for a month or so.
I can totally understand why you went for this car, but I'd be awfully tempted to get a 123d for much the same money or it you must have petrol stretch to the 135. But if we all had as good taste as me we'd all be driving the same car .

Because we only sell leather to 5% of our customers overall

The BMW 1 series depreciation curve would put me off even looking at one..... BMW are massively inundated with the 1-series hatches at the mo' because of all the 3-yr pcp terminations they are having because the cars are in negative equity!!!

The dynaudio system is excellent. Far superior to the Bose in Audi and has an amp as well as speakers. . . .
Did you know Dynaudio make a pair of home hifi speakers that are £20,000>??????????

Could it be that VW only sell 5% of their cars with leather seats because they offer such boring colours. All VW interiors, even the Scirroco, are very dark and some red or blue leather would look the business and really lift it. Cream isn't practical so you're left with black .
FWIW I would have gone with the coupe rather than the hatch, but I take your point about them not having the best residuals. Having said that, I was in Germany over New Year and popped into a showroom to have a sit in a 123d coupe. Now I will always fight the corner of Japanese cars that are better built and better specced than their German competitors, but this BMW had the best driving position of any car I've sat in, and I've parked my backside in quite a few. Totally changed my opinion of what I originally thought was a poorly packaged car. I bet BMW don't have a residual value problem with that particular variant.

We do red in the eos leather and no-one buys it! People just want standard stuff, it helps with re-sale. Boring, I agree, but thats why VW's have the strongest residuals in the market (Excluding MINI but they don't sell a "range" of cars really, just variants of the same car)

She drives a Beetle cabrio instead of a company car. . . .

Currently, 2.0 TDI Sport in midnight blue with beige nappa and 18" Chicago wheels.......
I've had 6 of them now, my favourite was a deep black Individual 2.0 T-FSI (Golf GTI engine 200 PS) DSG!

Scirocco order cancelled Friday morning due to dealer first lying about delivery date, then not confirming new date "Probably december"
Re-ordered via RJM25R for delivery September/early October
Got a better deal to boot.
Cheers Rick

Really tempted by one of these for my Mum to replace her Golf IV GT TDi 130.
Might hold off for the 2.0 TDi version though.
RJM25R - any word one when we can expect the 2.0 TDi to arrive/be available to order and the spec? Feel free to drop me a PM!

Brand new car, GT spec in white is £20940 with adaptive damping as standard and 18" wheels. Relative bargain methinks. . . .
Same price as a GTI golf but with exclusivity.
(Obviously I am biased working for VW but I am genuinely excited about the new Scirocco. . . . . )

Yeah but the Scirocco is a brand new car. For the first year or so, there ain't going to be that many on the road, so exclusivity.
Plus a VW will always hold it's value better than a Seat. Especially a with it being a 4 seat coupe.

I decided I wanted a Sirocco so put my E90 320d up for sale.
Went to local VW garage and they said they are only getting a few in and most are pre-ordered already. No definate delivery date yet as VW cant even tell them!
I'm off on a free 4 month 'holiday' with work in Dec so will probably wait till after then. Salesman said it was the better option as they will have had time to iron out any of the 'faults' by then and there will be more colour options etc then anyway.
Nice car though and got a good write up in this months Top Gear magazine.

Had the poster foldout/pamphlet for weeks
Posted two to STILover he's had his for over a week (one to thumb through, one to hermetically seal for posterity!)
We've got proper pricelists now as well, just no proper brochure
