Default New VW Scirroco

What do people think of them? Quite loving the pictures of it. The Blue one in this months Evo looks very nice indeed.

Now that the new Focus RS is wrong wheel drive, I'm looking at what to possible buy.

OK so it only has 197BHP through the front wheels, but early cars are getting the full GT pack. Specced one up this morning.

Extra's
Leather = £1535
Paint = £365
Upgrade stereo = £385
Bi-Xenon lights = £845.

Total cost £24,070.

Thoughts?

These interest me a lot. Cheaper and supposedly more focused than the Golf and they look pretty good. I could be tempted as a cheaper alternative the my Skyline.

I'm interested in the Scirocco too. Where did you spec it up? Is it on the VW website now?

Manual.
If it's as fun to drive as they say it is (even better than the Golf GTI) I want a manual box.

Need to ask about the winter pack as web site doesn't give much info, but if they don't cost much, I'll get heated seats.

Yeah.
Early cars come with the GT pack, so lots of extra's for normal price.

Blue. Not sure which one though. There are 2 on the website, but no colour chart. Want the Blue that's shown on the car in Evo magazine.

Was thinking White, but could be forever cleaning it. Same reason I ruled out Black.

Yes, the blue looks nice. That'll be a nice looking car.

Do you not fancy the panoramic sunroof?

At the moment, no.

I'm going down the dealer Wednesday night to fill in the order forms, so I have a couple days to think about it. TBH though I can't see me going for the panoramic sunroof. Might be a bit too tarty.

DSG is probably a VERY good option... it certainly is a fantastic option in the Golf. bear in mind that it's not just a boggo slush box....

IMHO

Yeah, thought about it. Thought about it alot. Can see benefits to DSG. Driving in town etc.

But every time I think about having fun on a back road, I'd prefer a manual box. Think the flappy paddles novelty would wear off pretty soon for me.

Quite interested in one of these myself. Is it Lookers you are dealing with and did they offer you a part ex price on yours?

I am also keen on a BMW 123d coupe and was shocked at what I got offerred in part ex. Had one for the day last week and it was superb, ragged it to death and it still returned 44 mpg.

Yes, it's them. Getting a price for trade-in this Wednesday when I go down to spec the car up.

I doubt they'll give a very good price. Said on the phone about the price of petrol, and may be hard to shift. Already preparing me for the shock.

I know what the minimum price I need for it (trade-in) and have been told that if the numbers don't work, I can have my deposit back.

Trying to sell it myself. Going to the DVLA in Stockton next week to get my plate put on retention, then I'll advertise it on Pistonheads/Autotrader.

I think £12,500 is a good price as it includes original alloys & springs.

I like it too but it's too expensive. Wait a year, let someone else pay for the extras and get one for 18k with 2000 miles on it.

It's tempting as I'll be buying a flat next year so not sure how that'll mix with an STI

I doubt that will be the case. Dealer is only getting 2 cars (both sold) and won't get anymore untill the second allocation slot. Probably another 2 cars. So you ain't going to see many around for quite a while.

Look at the current GTI. For the first year or so people struggled to get one. Demand outstripped availability so second hand prices were very strong. Only recently has the GTI really fallen in price.

Pretty sure in the first year I won't lose much, if nothing at all. Expect to trade it in when the R version comes out. Probably 18-24 months away.

i have to agree, you only have to look at the ed30 gti's,seems like they are droping very very slowly.
only thing i'd be afraid of with this car is the next mark6 gti, might over shadow it.iv'e heard that it might come standard with the higher output tfsi which remaps too 300bhp....but the scirocco does look rather good, very tempting indeed!

some nice pic's
