Spot on i would say, and like any race, unless you know the other person how do you know how hard they are trying?

The alcohol content of Tennents Super and a fine Champagne are roughly comparable.
Both have the potential to get you drunk quickly, however one is the domain of urine stained tramps and the other is beloved of the upper echelons of society.

Go figure.

If you're referring to my comments one is a cheap and nasty 'chemical' lager mass produced in large vats for consumption by dross the other a lovingly crafted, hand riddled, subtle yet accessible premium product made for the cognoscenti

Again go figure.

I'll say it again- tramps like drinking cheap high strength lager. Other people prefer a fine champagne. Both can get you drunk.

Does fine champagne offer better "drunkedness" than a cheap high strength lager?

Porchse 997 Carrera S - Trust me not much of a contest, New Audi R8 has a bit more to give, (the diesel one will be interesting thou).

Like the man said 'Lot of Money', But if you got why not flaut it, An Evo IX with a few mods would make mince meat of the above.

So what your saying is that people that drive Subaru’s are tramps and that Subaru’s are like strong cheap lager.

Oh dear, oh dear - are we a little badge obsessed?

Now personally I have spent a bloody fortune on cars over the years and the one thing I've learnt is if you are into driving and not simply posing, then it's the quality of the engineering that should be important to you not the badge that stamped on the front of the bonnet.

Besides Porches even fall down on the posing front as I will guarantee that more people will stop and look at my GTR than some faceless Porsche owned by some overpaid idiot with no sense of originality.

You want people to look at your car? Takes all sorts I guess.

I'm not saying that people who drive Imprezas are all tramps either, it's merely an analogy.

As far as quality of engineering goes there's no doubt that's one of Subarus fortes.

However when it comes to driving experience, all round satisfaction and sheer joy of ownership there's very little to touch a 911. One of the reasons they've been at the top of the game for so very long.

Of course there are numpties out there who dismiss the driving experience with phrases like 'light at the front' and other tosh.

The 911 is for people that enjoy a challenge and realise that, like a fine wine, it's a complex and multi-layered experience that you need to put something into to get something out.

Others of course like to down tin after tin of high strength chemical alcohol. As I've said before:-

Go figure.

Ignore me, don't waste your time!!!!!!

For the record i don't have anything against Subaru's as such, after all i have owned two and will be supporting them i Wales in December.
I will say however that imo they are not perfect.

Oh I do love this i'm faster than you rubbish, my dad bigger than you!

For the record I now own a new hatch sti and had a 2004 wrx ppp before, I love them and will probally get another one because for the money and what I want I don't think there is anything better. However, there are better cars available and alot faster. I would have a Porsche (not boxer or the 4x4) over a scoob any day, as it is a better performance car.

To be fair that is a fact when you stick the engine way out behind the rear axle. Aside from good traction I can't see how this is a sound engineering/physics principle. Infact at some point did Porsche themselves not resort to putting weights in the front bumper to balance out the chassis?

It isn't an optimal position for the engine. However it's an important part of the Porsche driving experience. The 'bobbling' feeling you get, learning to take corners slow in and fast out is part of the thrill. Also extremely rewarding to master not to mention very effective.
