Oh, and check out the huge intercooler piping leading to the front of the car where the front mount intercooler is located.

Agree with you boys now I can see a clear pic. Didn't get a good look on tv tbh.
Still funny seeing the air fed from the front rather than a scoop though

Its been like that for a long time mate! Can't remember when exactly they introduced the front mount to the WRC cars, but certainly while they were still running classics!

It looked to me like Petter was closer in on Loab towards the end of day 2, down to 27 seconds and in his interview after day 2 he said he would have to check with Dave Richards whether he could go for it on the final day or just bring the car home. For an out of the box effort it showed great promise. Looking forward to them developing it more and more. I wonder if the road STI would ever change to a FMIC? Why keep it top mounted?

Loeb was faster than the Fords before they had problems, so he won by being faster.

It's a brand new car on a notoriously hard, car breaking rally!

Even so here is a few of the stage results, I don't think they were too bad:

SS7 - Solberg was 2nd, beating Loeb and both Fords
SS8 - Subarus 3rd and 4th beating both citroens
SS9 - Solberg was 4th beating Hirvonen and both Citroens
SS11 - Solberg 2nd and only 3.2 seconds behind Hirvonen
SS12 - Solberg 4th less than 15 seconds behind Loeb and Hirvonen
SS13 - Solberg 3rd with only 7.5 seconds behind Hirvonen with Loeb in between
SS14 - Atkinson wins stage!

first event with a car that was introduced earlier than the stated date by SWRT is a great achievement. The previous impreza had been around since the mid 90's so its a complete change for everyone.

Once the car has done a few tarmac and gravel races it will be easier to say where it is in relation to the other cars out there.

Next year is the big one, DR is planning to run 4 cars with a British driver in one, at last we might have some brits to support! A brit in one and possibly the current test driver Marko Martin in the other (his answer to "are you retired" was errrm, lol).

Matt Wilson is steadily moving along, although its a ford its great to see someone british out there.

If it was my choice, I'd get Barry Clark in there... but what do I know?
