The graphics are great, the game play (handling) is staggeringly bad.
I know what you mean about nail through the centre, it has been a bugbear of mine for years about console racers, but I must admit, this game simply isn't like that at all.

It must be user error

Handling is fine, the only problem is (as with pgr4) why do they neglect to include a decent bumper cam view instead of the crappy on the floor cam which is fine until you close up on the rear of another car and can't see **** to overtake or corner.

And is it me or is the handbrake disabled on midnight touge?

I'm another who doesn't like - it's just a generic racer... pretty poor in most departments, the graphics are average, tracks are bland and a few badly laid out - Le Mans & Spa being the exceptions.

The AI is a pain, even on Basic - I prefer racing online as its more gentlemanly...

Not keen at all - will be getting traded soon...

I never tried drifting on the demo however it sorta comes to you in the full game, i was getting 200k before i realised handbrake was infact button b, now i'm getting 600k+

Messiah's right the AI isn't great however good drivers don't need to worry about AI unless they are lapping somebody

It's not a great game, but it's enjoyable. I've got it on rental so maybe if i'd paid £40 then i'd be a little more critical, however this month rock band got my money

i managed a 25 combo linked drift in the game and i think i got around 6 million points for it

thing is, the achivement points only unlock for x50 combo

even doing the drifting on extreme mode only sees the other player do a max of around 600k so far

i found the drifting "changes" quite a bit depending on what car you buy, best one for me so far has been the toyota soarer

enter this code into the bonus codes section and get a free pagina zonda

m38572343

was listed as a code for the euro pal copys on a website, worked me me anyway!

iirc one of the achievements is for lapping the full grid in a race? unsure how im going to match that one, not sure what the problem with the ai is? mine seams to be fine. trying to make moves, spinning out, generally acting a hell of a lot better then simple drones driving around a set course

currently have the top bollock team mate with me, had to pay a fortune to sign him on and he wants 70% of his winnings, but he is dam fast in the faster cars, he cant drift for **** mind he won a 24 hours le mans race for me, shame i crashed out when it got dark

'Flaps Racing' is up and running

Has anyone tried it online yet? Fancy setting up a Scoobynet game one evening? I'd be up for a 360 one.

Cool

Has anyone managed to set up a private session yet? I tried last night, and although it let me create it, it gave me no option to set a password like the manual says it should, and when my friend did a search for private games, none were listed.

Not tried hosting yet, but can't you limit slots to friends, then hit the xbox button and send a game invite to your friend?

I read somewhere but can't remember where, or it's legitimatacy, it was either 500 or 1000 races.

Best I can find is

regarding the online achievements elite and legend ranks... its worked out on points, by the looks of it you can only gain points, although losing normally gets you zero points,2 player race if your the same rank you get 2 or 3 points a race, for every 10 points you get a star, after 3 stars (what would be the 4th star or 40 points) you go up to the next rank, starts at jr rookie(0), then goes to rookie(40), then advanced rookie(80) and no-one is any higher on the leaderboards so i cant tell u how many points u need for elite and legend (hopefully will have a better idea after a day of playing)

edit again... also if your boosting this make sure to alternate wins, if your both around the same skill level you will make more points in the long run, bad news is i reckon the most points you'll get in an hour is around 25-30

woohoo

only another 14 trophies to get and i have spanked the game

did the le mans (on pro) and midnight touge race today + the 50x drift multiplier achievement

read on another forum about loads of people getting achives for free when playing multiplayer, something about lag making the game think they had done 1000 miles and 4 achievements unlocking when the game crashes explains why my mate had his "long haul" achievement within 1 hour of getting the game

managed to roll the car 7 times, need to do it another 13 times, cant find a decent "rolly thingy"

thought i had the "gentlmans racer" one all sown up when doing the le mans race, started from the front in the audi, stayed in front, never hit anybody, night came, and just as the night was turning back into daytime, i was thinking "ohh yea, easy street here we come" my fackin team mate crashed into me and span me out

lol, yeah i've read a few people with the 1000miles, i've also seen somebody on the leaderboard with a time of 1min 1 on the Okatama Grand Circuit in a tvr.

Stockcar racing should do it, they still count if you restart a race but not if you use flashbacks

Could you not of used a flashback? for the sake of the achievement just set it to basic.

I can't seem to get the spin and win, i take it you need to be hit or hit a wall or something to spin out and not just manually drive a donut?

i was killing a few birds with one stone and had it set to "pro" mode for the achievement, IIRC you don't get any flashbacks when its set to pro mode?

i have only just realised you can stop the game at any time, do a replay and then use a flashback, i only thought you could use one if you crashed

iirc the spin and win happened to me when somebody slammed me, the camera needs to spin right around as far as i am aware

I've just got it at the end of a 40 lap stock car race, and by eliminating all the competition on lap 37 getting the lastman achievement then by actually carrying on and completing the final laps i also got the sunday driver lapping all opponents achievement

i did that with a 20 lap race yesterday (last man standing) but could not be arsed to do 20 laps by myself so switched it off

was thinking last night "wonder how i would get the sunday driving one" and then it clicked

i just parked next to the jump, and whenever somebody jumped off the ramp, i reversed into them as fast as i could, was a doddle lol

I got Gentleman Driver...

You need to make sure when you get the dialogue box up with the options when selecting the race from your garage, that you have "Pro Mode" switched to on. I could be mistaken but I don't think Le Mans counts anyway as its not a Grid World event.

Easiest place to get it is in the first section of Euro races, pick the touring cars around Spa as it a 1 race event and quite long so you can take your time and pick the opponents off carefully.
