years ago i had a car stolen, a crappy 1.4 ford orion rust bucket (i know, why bother) and since then the nicest car ive had is the scoob. If they're gonna take a crap motor then a good one would give them great pleasure (*** me right off thinking about it). I bought a removeable steering wheel ("snap off" is the name i think) and it does ease my mind. I put it under my missus pillow, don't disturb her when she's asleep it'll be the last thing you ever do she'll f'kin av ya

I doubt the robbers will be put off by the pink vibrating thing.

Please excuse the following rant. It was directed at gallois latest post, but he seems to have deleted it

Do you actually read posts before responding

What the different signs of aggression are in dogs is somewhat irrelevent in the context of this thread
My dogs bark when someone enters my property (the joys of a gravel driveway) because that is what I have trained them to do. They continue to bark until that person leaves or it is made clear to them that the person in question is a friend. They do this regardless of me being at home or not, again because that is what I have trained them to do.
Given the option of entering my house or moving on to another without the
potential risk of an attack the criminal would choose the later. We aren't talking about stealing one of a kind vehicles here so it wouldn't take much to drive round the corner and find another whos owner had less security.

there is only a 50/50 chance it will attack
Would you really fancy those odds when you can just look elsewhere?

The first post I made in this thread (which you clearly didn't read) was about the benefits of a dog, amongst other things, as a deterent to breaking and entering. The reason why a dog barks has no relevance.

(allthough I can assure you that when mine bark it is not because they require backup).
As I stated previously it's about deterent and a barking dog is a great one. Even with your seemingly limited K9 knowledge you are of the opinion there is a '50/50 chance' a barking dog will attack so as an intruder why would you take that risk? The most likely course of action would be to move on to another target with less unknown variables.

Any further questions about dog behaviour can be sent directly to

monkey. (doberman owner since 1990, who sleeps very soundly)

tbh mate i don't give a flying **** about what someone like you thinks of my knowledge of dog aggresion, even if you have had a doberman since 1990 i've worked with enough dogs to know what i want to know.

(11yrs as a pat dog handler for 102 log bde, sleeps lightly.)

i think you're a trolling tosser mate, picking bits and pieces out of posts to rip apart and boost your ego, no-one said anything about you or your dogs, yet you dived in with all this ****, go away.

This week my gf came home from work and let the dog out into the garden and it went mental barking. She put the light on and went out and heard a massive bang and the branches of the tree/shrubs moving and sworn she seen a person DEFINATELY not an animal. She called police.

Two days later, late at night she heard noises downstairs and went to investigate. When she was down she heard lots of banging upstairs (like Footsteps) I was away at the time and she called in tears scared. She ran out and drove to her parents in the car. Nothing was stolen/missing/out of place and no signs of entry so not sure if someone was in or not.

The police have said they will keep an eye on it but Im so tempted to just sell the car. I dont want to be scared every night that someones going to break in. Why can't you have anything nice? I have wanted a Subaru all my life and now I have got a lovely one, some scruffy little tw@t wants to steal it.

My car maybe up for sale very soon. Watch this space

Ps if its people doing research and reading forums for cars, if I'm in and hear you, I dont mind going to jail
CCTV is a good idea, or even dummy camera's. I would wait up for a few nights if they come frequently and you think there is a good chance of them appearing, making sure I had a pickaxe handle or similar to give whoever it is a good f*cking crack over the head. However I certainly wouldnt recommend you do that...i'm single, I dont have a family that could get hurt if these people are armed etc, and want revenge for you giving one of their pals concusion.

Obviously by all means defend yourself if anyone enters your home though.

First and foremost, if you're uneasy then sell it, family comes first. Secondly, and with due respect to all other posts, your house, car, dog and everything else can be maxed out with security/training etc but unfortunately if they want it enough, they will still get it.....
