I'm looking to phone Keith michaels soon as i've got my insurance up for renewal in july but have got a new car.

Only decent quotes i've had so far are around £1950 not bad i thought to say im 19 with two years NCB coming. You think you'll be able to bet it??

I was 20 with 3 and paid 1600 for my first year.

Just resorted mine with Garry this week. Over 300 cheaper than last year.
Cheers mate.

38 years old, driving for 20 years. Gary & KM are the best company I've dealt with. Great service, no fuss.

Cheers for the renewal quote, Gary.

Answers on a postcard please.

For most of 2007 we were unable to quote for 2 door Impreza's, purely down to very poor claim stats on those vehicles. Fortunately that is now sorted, so i'll certainly see what i can do for you at renewal time

If you haven't owned a performance car for over a year, it drastically reduces the amount of companies we use who'll quote, so although we can certainly quote you, it might not be as cheap.

Hope this helps

Gary
That helped me somewhat. Thinking about upgrading at some point. Its funny, that I can get insurance on another performance car (non jap - swedish) at not much more than I am paying now on my sport. So I think if I want a impreza turbo, I think I am going to bite the bullet come insurance.

Would you class a impreza Sport as a performance car Moley?

Thought I'd share my recent experience with Keith Michaels...

Rang Gary who put me straight through to some guy called Patrick who I've had a few difficulties with... generally a bit rubbish at asking the right questions and missed loads of details that I had to say "hang on, you've not asked me about XYZ" etc. a good example being that he didn't take my reg number until after I'd paid and reminded him that he hadn't asked for it!

So I have gone with Keith Michaels... but the paperwork arrived on Saturday with half of it missing (no schedule, no policy booklet) and some spelling errors on names (mine and my wife's) so not a great start. Called Patrick several times today... always on the phone, left a message and no return call. Ended up calling reception and having a moan, only then did the chap say he'd sort out the missing paperwork and get the certificate with the correctly spelt names on!

Not sure why I was passed straight from Gary to Patrick despite calling him on his direct number and saying I was from Scoobynet.

So for me, not a 100% smooth experience but I'm now paid up and hope the experience improves in the future!

Would have been one of two reasons.....

1) You'd had a quote fromus before done by Pat
2) We have so many people ring up and moan ''this is the 3rd time i have tried Gary'' that the managers now say that Scoobynet quotes can be done by anyone, as they are worried about the amount of potential business we are loosing.

FWIW Pat has been at Keith Michaels for many years, is very clued up on performance cars, and is very professional.
We'd only ask for a reg once we have taken payment, as that is one of the last things we need to complete paperwork. We don't use the system that picks up car details from reg numbers.

I've been with Keith Michaels for ages, used them for a Golf GTI 8V a few years back, a Leon Cupra after that and now my scoob. I always deal with Christian....never had any problems top bloke!

Thanks for taking the time to reply, it is appreciated. However I haven't called Keith Michaels before to my knowledge and you just passed me on. Fair enough if you were busy but seeing as I got through I thought I'd get to speak to "the man"

However long Patrick has been there he was clearly rushed that day as I've just had the PROPER paperwork through today (with all the stuff he forgot to send) and there are even MORE mistake! Date of births for both me and the wife are wrong (year is wrong) and modifications are not listed on the statement of fact. I will be calling in the morning to sort this out and hopefully end up with the correct paperwork with all the details that I had told Patrick carefully and clearly on the phone. I can only hope that he got the premium correct!

I didn't add to this thread to moan, only to state my experience which I was hoping would be a good one, however it has not been great.

Cheers
Jon

EDIT: Just counted up and there are a total of 8 mistakes on the paperwork, this time... sigh

Slept on it and have cancelled policy with KM (didn't start until Friday anyhow). Lost confidence in the company but from what I've read it's most likely an isolated case.

Thanks for trying anyhow

So much for the hype - I have just completed an on-line quote and KM can't beat my Direct Line premium
