Where reservation is concerned, volume autogrow is your new best friend !! I was told that at ONTAP 7.2.4 the threshold for autogrow has changed from 98% to a value you can set manually (best to set between 90 and 95%) as people have seen that if you are filling the LUN with large amounts of data quickly, the autosize doesnt happen quick enough and the LUN still goes offline.

Yeah thats the one. Speak to him all the time !!!!! Me and a colleague helped him out at a customer with some VMWare networking problems a while back.
