DCCD all done; checked everything and made the last three splices. I've got the technique down now so another new skill care of the wagon Not the most interesting photos ever but I'm posting them anyway to celebrate finishing it

Cleaned up the cabin and all I need to do is plug everything in...I'm not putting the dash back in -which is taking a huge amount of self control- until I've got the motor in and tested all the electrics. I'll only end up finding a fault and damaging it when I take it out.

Next small job was to relocate the oil cooler, I decided I wasn't happy having it hanging as low as it was in the arch...so I'm going to move it to make it a bit less vulnerable. Paranoid, moi?!

First job was to swap slap a 90 fitting on to replace the 45 so the hose run was nicer...I heated up the female part and hose and froze the male end of the -AN fitting; went together perfectly with very little grief. Then it started to rain so cooler move aborted for now...

I've had no luck with the stud removal as I don't have any tools that allow me to turn the stud extractor so I'm going to call the local engineering firm that built my custom steering uj for me. Fingers crossed for a quick turnaround.

After a world wide search I'm finally close to getting the clutch parts I want...I think Mao who runs Evolution R in Perth has a contact that works for ORC. He also has a conversion kit for the OE fork but I want to use the uprated ORC fork so am waiting on news from ORC

Spoken to Tim about the CTS and he was already looking into longer sensors...one step ahead as usual

Aly is helping out with those awkward last few bits and pieces and I need to give him a ring about a filter element for the post pump fuellab filter...and that bloody grommet

We are all trying in different areas Ian and I too am looking forward to seeing the wagon, I take my hat off to you guys that undertake engine work as that is one area that I will not be wandering into as I know very little and simply would not know where to start.

Oh and did I hear you say Grommit

Not you as well

No photos, just your standard oh crap update...

Popped down to see Mo to get the snapped stud removed, it came out no drama...wasn't even tight and when inspected you could clearly see the elongated thread; confirmation it had been over tightened originally. I will be relpacing all the bolts.

All good eh...well no actually, we had a quick visual check of the 'box while the centre diff was off and noticed that all the retaining nuts had been re-used when really they should have been replaced. The nuts are centre punched in place as they are not tight, where the punch had been opened and then re-punched to secure there is lots of potential for swarf. I don't want swarf in my gearbox...I also don't want gasket sealer in my gearbox, found some of that on the main transfer shaft.

So I have zero confidence in the 'box assembly...Mark at Scooby Clinic to the rescue; qualified PPG technician with a fantastic reputation. Going to get it palletted up to him as soon as I have a chance to sort it.

Yay, cars.

I'm not suprised you don't want to refit the dash.

The wiring behind your is rather neat though.

The cluster **** of wiring under my dash, no idea what the rest of it's like.

Nice to see a bit of progress, shame about the 'box though.

Erm, not a lot. I drive it to and from work and that's about it.

I've got lots of bits and pieces, little things like suspension, lying around the house that I need to get round to doing something with, but, time money and motivation are kind of getting in the way.

This came back from 'clinic last Monday...quite a few bits cocked up when it was 'built' before; including a bearing floating around freely on the main input shaft so thankful and livid in equal measures. I will be pursuing that and seeking a full refund of the original gearbox build costs

DCCD diff now set up too, hope to get it fitted tomorrow.
