Off top off my head as im at work - you go into the online mode - NWF or whatever its called in there theres 3 options click friends and your code should appear in the middle of the screen then add all the above listed codes into the friends list and when they accept you will be able to see them online when there on you game code will be 3 blocks of 4 numbers

Someone might be able to look on there console and give exact instructions as I can only remember bits so sorry if im way out

You can see it when you first load up MK and select your driver / licence. The 3x4 digit code is shown above your name. You have a diff code for each driver listed on your Wii.

Havent had much of a chance to play but have completed all 100cc cups at gold last night and will do 150cc tonight so I can unlock all the extras. Is there anything more you can do to unlock anything? Managed to get grade A in one cup - but seems pretty random how its worked out.

Dont wanna teach you to suck eggs but your aware of a) drifting in manual mode to get the mini-turbo and b) on bikes you can pull a wheelie to accelerate faster?

Do you have to do anything specific? Ive added most and I thought if they then add me thats all it takes. Or do I have to look somewhere specific to accept a new request?

Not sure as - all I did was fire out about 8 requests then the next time I logged on 3 people showed up - spoons ETC - I will have to have a look to see if anyones sent me a request - if not I will send one to the remainder of the list

where do you go to see if anyone has added me?

when you go to the screen...

CREATE A ROOM
FRIENDS ROSTER
FRIENDS

do i go to create a room and search for 'friends', do they only get found if I've been added on their list?

svs - Im sure Ive done yours but will repeat tonight.

Played a little bit last night and told me spoons came on line just as I was about to logoff.

Are there different ways to do a fast launch as even when on the front of the grid and launching fast people are beating me to the first corner. Or does it depend on what kart your in i.e. faster accelerating ones do just that (doesnt seem to apply for me though).

Must admit I like playing on the bikes as easier to do tricks with the wheel (as when in a kart I find I also steer in one direction too much). Hopping to drift on close connecting corners is a nightmare with the wheel - have to be really quick and specific. Gonna get a gamecube controller and see how I get on with that.

I use the automatic setting at the moment but I'm going to try the manual soon as you get the extra little boost out of the corners when power sliding.

Did anyone have trouble connecting last night? It wouldn't let me on at all!

Steve.

I was having a nightmare on Rainbow Road with the wheel, swapped to remote & nunchuk and its sooooo much easier.

To get the fastest start, you start accelerating on 2 when his arm is in the 11 o'clock position.

Not sure how much the different types of kart affects the start, but in the game makes a big difference if you get spiny shelled for e.g - some take ages to get back up to speed.

Ive got a gamecube controller arriving today but am out tonight so will have to give it a crack tomorrow night.

Its just so annoying with the wheel when you jump one way then quickly the other but it goes the same way and you end up facing a wall or hedge. You lose so much time reversing

Exactly - that's why I use remote & nunchuk, it works a treat

Gamecube or classic controller are probably easier again.

Wow what a difference using the Gamecube controller makes - its like night and day. The wheel is ok for the casual player but I think anyone wanting to play well really needs to use the GC pad. Pulling wheelies and doing tricks using the keypad is so much easier with no chance of going off at an angle.

Managed to gain about 500 pts in 45 mins last night

Still find some weird goings on during games. Last night I was 3rd and just starting the 3rd lap on Mushroom Gorge. From the map I could see 2nd and first fighting it out half way around the map. As I crossed the start/finish line for that final lap a blue shell sound came and it then proceeded to take me out and not go for 1st place player. Afaik there is no way to dodge the blue shell other than slam on the brakes and hope someone behind takes your place in time (if they are indeed close enough for it to be worth trying).
