I agree with most points yes and i'm not fussed with the mpg I get, my Supra did about 14mpg, my Clio V6 did about 19mpg, My Scoob does probably a little more so i'm happy.

As for inflation I pay my own wages so yes i'm cool with that.

But for the majority of most average joes on £16k a year with there 4% increase to £16640 with inflation (of which from that £640 after NI and tax they see around £480) that £480 extra they earn doesn't match the increase in every other day to day rises.

55 litre tank of fuel last year = £51.09
55 litre tank of fuel now = £60.44

If a tank of fuel is used each week over a course of a year then thats a difference of £486 which is more than the wage rise with inflation.

Now couple that with increase of road tax, MOT's, and everything else like bread, milk, etc people are worse off.

I do completely agree with what you say about the house side of things though, that was ridiculous what people have done and i've said the same for years.

At the moment i've just bought another house nothing fancy, paid £175k people are saying that'll drop in price.

Fine! don't plan on being there more than 2 years.

£175k house with 10% drop = £157.5k

I plan to move on up to say a £250k house and that will also experience a 10% drop if not more as demand is falling at present thats now worth £225k.

Now as the market stands to take that leap will cost me £75k if the market drops 10% it'll cost me £67.5k

Alot of the countries problems and peoples is bought on by themselves because people think about now not the future and planning ahead. But yes banks cause much of it, I was offered a £239k mortgage over 13 years. I can just about afford £175k over 20. Work that one out.

TBH Chief, I reckon the list should be at the top, and your "add me to the list" should be the only other piece on there with name / email fields.

The reason I'm suggesting this is because people are swearing and putting all sorts of rants on that page, and I'm not sure that's the image you want to promote, especially if we want to try and publicise it.

On an annoying note - seen this?

How typical! We could have done with this sort of support to bolster our protest. Or joined them. I wonder why they didn't publicise it more. Typically of course the BBC have hidden it and made BP and Shell profits the main story; they're getting as bad as the government!

Could someone please explain which taxes will be going up to replace the revenue lost from a reduction is fuel tax? I'm not trying to be smart, just wondering if anyone had got over their hump and actually thought through the economics?
