Just had my wifes name on my wedding finger as I'm a plumber by day and play with cars at night and weekends so don't always want to wear a ring for safety

think it needs a little more ink on the e but I'm happy with it and love the J and the flicks on the n's and i

I've decided that I'm going to have a motorsport related sleeve soon, in the ideas section at the mo, going to see Mark at http://www.sacredarttattoo.co.uk/ who I have known for about 8 years with some artwork in the next week to get him to see where we can go with it, hopefully he will get it started sooner than his current waiting list which is late October!

^^^500 I'm a fan of those type of tattoos...arguably cheesy (says the man with the Essex shield), but I like them

Rat;shame the 5hite pics do it no justice; the blue low-lights are amazing in the flesh...I'm going to get some clouds added to make the moon less sun like...no pics of swallow background yet though.

Well I have my next tattoo sorted.

I'm so sad to tell people I lost my dad last night, my tribute to him will be to get his northern soul "keep the faith" tattoo done. He never got around to it, and I have been waiting for something to help me decide what my next one will be.

I'm feeling a bit shocked still, I can't beleive he isn't here.
I am at at my mums at the moment, and I know the children are helping them to stay positive.

Very sorry to hear of your loss.

My first tattoo was in memory of my late father, it's nice to be able to be reminded everytime you look at it.

Sorry to hear your news, hope you are all coping ok.
Lovely tribute I agree sounds like a perfect reason and design.

Take care

Thank you. I will have to use an original design of what he was going to use, but will need to do a few alterations to make it mine.

It's possibly going to look quite masculine, so I would be happy for anyones ideas to make a little more femenine and personal.

That is it. Obviously I'm not just getting that stamped on me, so it's going to need some tweeking.

Its great you have the design like that. Personally I would not detract from the original too much. Maybe softened in black and grey will help it appear softer, maybe with some flowers around the edge, wreath kind, but made with a touch of colour to make it pretty and a celebration.

A good artist will help you choose by drawing some options up, and of course make sure it IS a good artist doing such a meaningful piece.

Do you want the whole thing replicated or just part of it?
eg if you just had the words "Keep the faith" it wouldn't be obvious that it was referring to Northern Soul, it could have several different meanings. Or is it important that it has the full words and image?

I will take it up to spike in a few weeks and get him to play about a bit. He did my first, and he is the best.

It needs to stay very similar to the original design. It quite an iconic symbol amongst the northern soul scene.
I will want to make some alterations, but the basic design needs to stay the same.

I've just been looking at some on Google Images but nothing very feminine has come up.
There are a couple of really bad (IMO) ones, the circles looking a bit wobbly and thin.

I haven't looked at the actual tattoos on google, I can imagine there are some very poor examples of them, as well as good. However I don't use other peoples tattoos for reference, but I will use tbe original artwork and work from that.
