Look, I'll admit, I don't see the point in them, and depending on where they are done and for what reason I've never been sure.
My ex got one just to **** me off, I'm not sure why as we'd already split up. Now she just looks like a scummy-mummy. I just don't know why you would do that to yourself (Mye ex has since admitted that she only did it to **** me off - but it's not me who has to live with it so I must surely have the last laugh!).

In answer to Lisa's question and this of course, none of mine are visible. Shorts and a t-shirt can cover everything I have, and will have. So nope, no wrists. However wrists are apparently quite tender. As is the inside of the arm as I know.
Heather recommended against a complete thigh wrap due to the inner thigh being rather tender too lol... Not that I was planning it anyway
Cheers for doing that Power, thought it was obvious, but then again us tattoo'ed are a bit thick lol.
Cant wait to get the initial full size design through. Might add some cherry blossoms into the water in addition to the lillys..... hmmm So much to think about

I'm off to LA in July and purely by chance my hotel is about 15mins away from High Voltage or as its also known LA Ink. So it would be rude not to pay a visit and try to get some work done especially as it is all done on a walk in basis. I am looking to get a portrait done by Kat of my mother who died when I was 12 so fingers crossed I can get in.
I am also planning to get a japanese style tattoo on my left for arm as a cover-up probably of a snake, tiger or dragon koi not sure which yet but will be using Woody in High Wycombe.
Oh and maybe a back piece in the next couple of years!
I do agree that some tattoos can look awful and a bit chav ie old skool bulldogs and england flags etc but each to there own its their bodies and they can do what they like with it.
My tattoos cost me a career in the Police force but I don't regret any of them.

Martin, last time I looked Kat Von De had something like an 8 month waiting list.... well worth dropping an email first.
Was also a minimum of about $800 for a basic piece, portraits were hourly charged and small ones were about $1500

I'm half way through a 1/2 sleeve being done by Leigh Oldcorn @ Cosmic Tattoo in Colchester. Had 6 hours and got another 3 on Wednesday.
He's done all my work so far and the bloke does amazing work, this new one is total custom, all done from my input ad Leighs skill. I'll post a pic when finished .

Not too bothred how long it takes to be honest, i know Leigh won't rush it just to get it done. He's a good lad to chat to, he's a total petrol head and currently drives a E46 M3 SMG, although he's owned a STi 5, Evo 6, R32 GTR etc etc. He used to post on here under the name Spudgun

It should be something you know what and why you want it.
Whenever friends say, "I want a tattoo but dont know what to have" I would just say DONT!
I have had this idea for about the past year-18 months now, and only now is it materialising into something I am happy with.

I have sent an email and had no reply yet. Ive also checked her web page and also high voltages myspace and web page and they all say appointments are possible but most tattoos are done on a walk in basis. Your not far off on the cost but with the dollar so weak and as i doubt i will be able go back to la again it would be worth it. You have to pay for the best!

Got any pics of the work you have had done out of interest. Would be nice to see some of his work not from TV
Louis is good, best in europe..... remains to be seen. How much does he charge these days? Last thing I heard, he was getting very selective about the work he does and was certainly not cheap.
Martin I know what your saying mate, best of luck getting it done though mate
Paul, April 10th is the line work, I shall indeed do a WIP picture when I get home.

Of all my tattoos only 2 are visable and they are on my wrists, Latin writing around them and totally personal. My next few projects will hopefully be getting done at Saz in Irlam.

Snazy, being you are a fellow clearly interested in this art, do you know of anywhere in the UK that offers Ta Moko style tattoos, i was going to have one when i was in New Zealand. However in the middle of a rugby tour it wasn't the best idea as the Kiwis were already inflicting enough pain on my body .
As I'm actually a 44 year old female I might give it a miss for now although the temptation to have a little one done somewhere discreet where no-one would see it is very strong
I already have a small tattoo high up on my upper arm but it's been there since I was 18 and now looks a bit crap, I'd like it changed into something else but am worried about ending up looking like a butch lezza
I'm also tempted to have it removed by laser and have a new tribal one done somewhere where it won't show. I think in hindsight the one on my arm was a bit of a teenage mistake and I've never ever shown it in public except whilst sunbathing or swimming.
I don't understand why I have an urge to have another one done especially as it won't ever be seen in public. The desire for having a tattoo is strange and powerful

My explaination is two tier for wanting tattoos.
I like to mark moments in time, a physical representation of my life time line.
And also the sensation of the tattoo being done, and the place I go (mentally) while its being done is SO nice
I sent a link to Rob of some amazing Maori stuff... I will try and find it again.
Ere it is...BIG MANGO SPORTS :: View topic - P.I Sports People's TATTOOS
The one of Dwayne Johnson is particularly interesting, breaking it down to explain it.

Shown a friend the design, she is shocked at the size of it and the detail
