well i filled the works sprinter up again today (twice a week) at approx £80 a tank
the esso garage i use charges £1.12lt for diesel, £1.03lt std unleaded and £1.09 lt super unleaded
the more people that switch to diesel the higher the profits are when it now costs 9 pence a litre more than unleaded compared to a few years ago when unleaded cost maybe 9 pence a litre less

and then when everyones had enough of paying over the odds for petrol and diesel and move onto LPG, how long will it be before the government realises its missing out and wacks up the tax on that too..?
it might be a lesser blow if they actually used the money to fix the roads up a bit rather then using it to furnish their 'second homes'

whens all the madness going to end... its going to get to the point where people just cant afford to put petrol in their car...
surely there must be a line that is going to be drawn, not just for petrol prices, but also for housing, cigs, beer, road tax, air travel.... the list goes on.

I can remember, around 12 years ago, when petrol cost 49.9 per litre in my area.
Esso had that price watch thing going on and a local garage bit the bullit and lowered their price in the hope of gaining more business. Didnt work.

Some need a reality check here.
Hands up how many would/have spent £700 on a Re-map?
How many have spent £1000+ on other mods?
Both the above decrease the re-sale value of your car by about 33% Whats the cost of that?
We on another thread are talking about £1k for a FMIC which is a pointless purchase for most.
Then, the world is about to end because petrol may be £1:15 a litre rather than £1? ..... That's £0.68 a Gallon, based on 10,000 miles a year = £272 a year - not nice to have to pay it, but a tiny amount in relation to modifying costs (which reduce the mpg figure in any case!).
