does it always say "waiting for device at centre" on the xbox support website??

 

Last time I sent one back it said that for a week and a half, then in the space of a day it said dispatched to customer. Mind you I had to wait another week for it to appear after that..

the falcon chipset is the new improved chipset (more efficent)

Project ‘Falcon’ as it’s known internally aims to reduce the size of the main console components such as CPU & GPU from the standard 90-nanometer process down to 65-nanometer. Smaller components mean less power is required to drive the console which has the benefit of producing less heat.

Just got an email from xbox support saying " your video system has been shipped" should be here by next week then

 

Looks like mines been shipped too The website has a new UPS tracking number and the status "Device Shipped to Customer".

 

Got mine back just now. So it went on the Monday evening with UPS and got it back 8/9 working days later.

Just about to try some gaming, but it seemed okay earlier Not taking any chances this time though, going to trade it in for a new one.

 

the same console but a newer one? How long have you had your 360 for it to pack up 3 times? i have had mine just over a year and had to send it back once, i hope it doesnt keep going wrong now

 

Had mine since launch day. To be honest, I can see the originals going wrong every six months or so like they have so far. My warranty expires in Apr 09, so I'll just get a newer Falcon version and hope it lasts longer!

if it's any console-ation (!), my PS3 is collecting dust due to lack of games. I would've loved to have got stuck into Bully after its recent release on Xbox360, but it never appeared for PS3.

 

got it back today, havnt played it yet just connected the controls. Will play it and connect my xbox live membership at the weekend

 

Just took my launch day 360 Premium to Gamestation and traded it in . . . .







For a nice new Falcon 65nm Elite Left if with them whilst the data transfers and will pick it up at lunchtime. Hopefully be a little more reliable than the last one

 

How much did they give you for it mate?

 

Not deal of the century I'm afraid, but £125 for the premium when trading in.

You're supposed to get Halo 3 or PGR4 free (both of which I have), but luckily both were out of stock so they knocked off the trade-in price of £16 too, which I was happy enough with.

So £259.99 - £125 - £16 = £118.99

Worth it for me to get HDMI, a Falcon CPU, optical dongle and 120Gb HDD. Plus a bit more reliability and extra warranty

Had to do a little arm twisting to get them to transfer the data, but they did it for me, so saves the complications.
