The BBC have got themselves all muddled up ..... they have 2002 down as a 4.8, then a 5.0 on the current 'up to date' page on the BBC news site, I know this for sure as they have 'Breaking news' in the corner ......
LMAO...d'oh...wrong quake. But a 5 is still a baby in quake terms, but still interetsing. In 1995 when I was in NZ, I was on the nith floor when a 6.5 struck about 400kms away off the west coast. People were ducking under desks and door ways looking scared, funny as hell until I realised what was happeing. Then two weeks later Mt Ruhapeu spat chunks the size of houses. Choice!

Can't believe I am actually glad it was an earthquake, my whole bedroom shook fairly vilently,
It was really diificult what to put it down to at the time, was walking around garden with a tourch looking a chimney stacks, scared me just a little.

5.2 on GMTV now!
It woke us up in Barnsley, there were a lot of lights on in the street too. We thought the pit our house is built on was caving in!
It was different to the one we had in Greece though, that was more 'swirly' and had some aftershocks. This one seemed more of a vibration.

Okay - I'm bored of hearing about it already now. Was interesting and exciting for 15 minutes.
Reports of people phoning the police and reports of "things falling off walls" have just annoyed me now.

I've merged two other threads into this one so apologies if any of it doesn't make sense, actually it probably won't be much different to a normal thread in that respect

I didn't feel it BTW
