The speeding thing here is really bad. Open speed limits are variable from 40kph to 110kph. I don't drive much these days but I went for a little drive over the w/e, only 71ks. With the various variable speed limit zones I found it very tiresome driving having to watch your speedo more than the roads. The spiders and snakes aren't that bad. I haven't seen a snake or a funnel web yet, but plenty of redbacks.
Things always seem greener on the other side. Anyone who thinks "Nanny State" does not exist in Australia and New Zealand really has no idea. Creeping "socialism" is EVERYWHERE!! Having said that, anyone wishing to emigrate I suggest they do.

No, I quite it here. If I had the money to move abroad that suggest I have money and if I've got plenty of money I don't mind where I am.
Only thing that annoys me sometimes is the weather.

My head says move abroad but my heart says no! I honestly love Scotland and would miss it, If SNP does take the country under control of independence I'll stay, but if I continue to live under rule from London, I'll go!
Simple as that

The entirely dull conversation? I think they can take credit for that, and sports they can't play.
To the OP, you never left an option for 'Already Did' I think the Nanny state thing becomes far more scary when you can see it from outside. You don't need money to do it, that's just an excuse.

An "Already did" option would have been great, as I fit in to that category too. And yes, looking in from the outside can be quite scary.

We joined the tribes over in Aus.
Don't be fooled every country has it's problems. Aus has very similar issues to the UK with violence increasing, drugs, binge drinking, obesity etc. Speeding is a real nightmare. We've been here for 6 months and I've already accumulated points, they like their roadside speed checks that's for sure.
I would say that the real problem with the UK is that it's losing focus on it's citizens and focus more on the minority than the majority. Not completely the wrong approach but their is a fine balance.
That's just my opinion and I wait to be flamed

I recently picked up 8 points due to speeding in a school zone, of course on that section of road, unlike most others where there is/isn't a speed camera, there wasn't external signs telling you (The motorist) it's was a school day. Didn't see kids, parents etc etc...p$ssed me off a little.

I wouldn't know where to go.
Australia - worse on speeding than here and too many spiders/insects/snakes
Canada - 1/3rd of the year below freezing? No thanks
Europe - No speako da english
America - Won't let me in, full of Americans
When I can afford my own island that's big enough to build a Nurburgring-esque ring road, I'll be packing up and going

I have the money if I sold everything here but am the kind of guy that plans everything so would need a job/house etc before moving. Now how do I go about getting a job on the other side of the world which is my real sticking point? If I could get one that afforded a similar lifestyle as I have in rural Oxon then I would emigrate no worries although I have to say that living where I live is very pleasant, just feel at mid 30s I need something new in my life .................. mid life crisis me thinks.
Suppose lack of bottle/the risk keeps me here.

I love the people Oh and the scenery isn't bad either
Seriously I love the North East, Moray to be precise. It's got sea, miles of beautiful deserted beaches, mountains, distilleries and lots and lots of fast jets The weather is pretty good there too, certainly no worse than here

Here is a prime example of why polls are absolutely useless.
It's easy to say "yes I would leave the UK" and then come up with 101 reasons why you can't. If you really meant it, you would find a way.
Its an absolute bollocks result with no commitment needed to say "yeah I would go!"

You have to remember a lot of people on this thread will be fairly young and won't remember how bad it was here in the seventies and eighties, we've got it easy compared to then
I love the UK and wouldn't want to live anywhere else, moving 200 miles north to Yorkshire was enough of a culture shock so I don't think I'd fare well abroad
