So in total that would give you 4 different options, switchable from in car.
Map 1
Map 2
Map 1 with Nitrous map 1
Map 2 with Nitrous map 2

Also known as daz
Now that is impressive, would have been a pita if it used a regular map so you only had 2 choices, with or without nitrous, means if i fancy going water/methanol i can still have this plus an additional nitrous map should i wish.
This simtek is turning out to be a fantastic ecu, i can't wait to get mine fitted.
One question, any news on that display unit, i heard it'll be similar to the apexi commander.

Yes, you can have the usual 2 maps for running different fuels or different power levels for example, then on top of that there would be 2 fully mappable nitrous configurations (3 if you include 'OFF' )
So in total that would give you 4 different options, switchable from in car.
Map 1
Map 2
Map 1 with Nitrous map 1
Map 2 with Nitrous map 2
So in total that would give you 4 different options, switchable from in car.
Map 1
Map 2
Map 1 with Nitrous map 1
Map 2 with Nitrous map 2
This really does sound like a fantastic option, or amount of options to be precise.
I had better start saving

Is it possible for these maps to be used for something other than nitrous ... e.g. as additional switchable fuel maps (so 95ron, V-Power, V-Power + Nitrous, Valet map) or do they only work by adding for nitrous on top of the existing maps?

They are designed specifically for controlling Nitrous but with a little bit creative mapping could potentially be used to control water/methanol injection or intercooler water spray for example......but thats me just thinking out loud

i believe this is an option in development.

Water spray output for intercooler water spray or water injection is already in there Andy on a seperate output....
We are using it on JD's car as an intercooler water spray already....
We have discussed having more maps though with the use of an 8 position rotary switch...It is on the back burner while other ecus are developed...
Valet switch is definately coming though as we thought it an easily implimented and desirable function....

Confucious he say "Valet" generic for young apprentice warrior, employed by Motor Trade to carry out hari kiri abomination to poor vehicle.
Owner, he switch off boost, to prevent road test suicide of engine.

Until the separate switch is an option, one of the nitrous maps could be used as a Valet mode, you would just set it to cut back the fuel at say 2500rpm, that should allow all of 50mph
In fact you could also set it to retard the timing massively and this would result in a big BANG as they hit the limit scaring them into thinking they had blown it up !

Glad to hear the option is in the pipeline ... I had my car back from a dealer service a couple of years ago, less a quater tank of fuel and with only 18 miles extra on the clock. Hmmm. Needless to say they never got my business again.
Must admit the Simtek is looking a better option all the time.
LOL ... only downside would be the brown stain on the drivers seat left behind by the unfortunate valet who had just seens his years wages flash before his eyes
LOL @ Dynamix ... my wife would not be happy with only 3000 rpm ... I've seen her hit the limiter with the full rev limit in place.

Thats why I call it wife mode.
I let my wife take mine out on track at Snetterton for a virgin track day that I organised last year. She revved the NUTS off it bouncing it off the limiter until I told her off
Needless to say i check the tell-tales on the gauges whenever she takes it for a spin now

Virgin Track Day? The mind boggles... mass deflowering of motorsport neophytes..
It sounds like we all married racy females! I entered my Liz in a handicap race at Silverstone, in a car she'd never driven before. She WON the race, and got the driver of the day award! Never bothered to do it again..

yeah, there were one or two innuendos that day
Well done to Mrs Jeffery
Mine didnt set the world on fire and absolutely hated it until a couple of days later when she told me that she had been obsessing about hitting apexes and turn in points and wondering when she could do it again
