Daz IIRC the club 100 run TKM's. Try to get yourself a drive in a ROTAX max, the difference is night and day. I went from 115cc TKM's to the 125cc rotax and couldn't believe the difference. Now sold due to family commitments .

Depends what you mean by race...

If you mean the occasional dropping off a couple of gears and giving it a short blast to put some distance between you and the guy up your chuff, then yes, I will do that.

If you mean tear arsing it up the public highway, undertaking overtaking dangerously etc, then definitely not.

I'm not 'proud' of relenting to the red mist when it occurs as it smacks of a lack of self control.

Yes I agree with you

Exactly the same here..

TBH, these days it's very few and far between for the number of factors that have to be in place:

1. the right location, as said nice open road good conditions/traffic etc
2. on my own in the car (usually the hardest to meet)
3. engine up to temp..
4. something worth bothering with..

Getting these criteria in place takes some doing, hence not that often..

Actually, it's quite nice to go out and have a quick blast with someone else in their own car, whom you know to be sensible/trustworthy. That way you can pick the time/place etc.. and know when to back off, call it a day..

Awesome piece of kit. I had to sell mine due to constant rib bruising every time I used it. I tried rib protectors, padding, new seats and nothing seemed to prevent it. Seems my ribcage aint karting friendly
Definitely ranks as some of the best fun you can have with your pants on

As for the topic, I reckon it takes a lot of will power not to rise to the challenge sometimes, so....yeah, I do enjoy the occasional blast

Very true. And to get them altogether rarely happens.

i use my car every day, so need to look after it, but having said that, i dont mind ripping someone a new 4rse from the lights, or having a quick blat, where safe to do so.
oh and i always give it beans through "any" form of tunnel / bridge / underpass !! - its the law!! lol

however, as i get older, my speed gets slower, from the days of being 17 and wheelspinning out of every side street and using the accelerator, more like a switch then a throttle

Tend to have a play with stuff off the lights however dont"race if ya like" over a long distance too dodgy if you dont know the skill level of the other driver-wont race at all if i see kids in their car even if theyre eggin you on to-it does happen believe me, they might be willing to risk their kids life but im not.

Grew up racing round a town centre ringroad most nights for yrs an yrs suprisingly there were few accidents, been in court once yrs ago for doin 52mph in a 30mph on a straight 2 lane section of it, never drove mad round it plenty of others did-slowed things down a bit when speed cameras and cctv were introduced theres still the odd accident though.
Think most ppl know its wrong an even though it got me in court i dont regret it.
It used to be a right laugh, although i really think basic driving standards and attitudes between what you`d call the boy racers of old and the young uns these days are miles apart though its mainly the attitude and non realisation of what could happen.

Pretty much sums it up for me

I don't get involved with "racing" Most such contest are only decided by who is prepared to drive like the bigger plonker - as Bubba says, the competitive aspect usually means that good driving and common sense go out the window- and sooner or later, such behaviour ends in tears!

When I fancy a run, I go out by myself when the roads are quiet and give the throttle a prod on the higher speed rated roads where the chances of coming into conflict with other traffic/pedestrians is minimised. I'll admit to the occassional prod on the throttle to loose tailgaiters when conditions permit, but my classic is approaching a level now, where -to be frank- it's not like I have much to prove. Also, the last time I had occassion to enter into such a demonstration, with an M3 as it happens and emerged the victor (if you can call it that) to be honest, I felt like a bit of a plum!

I have no time for people who go tearing about through built up areas; the height of imaturity IMHO and such people really shouldn't own performance cars.

Hand on heart, no. Probably part of the reason, I didn't have a single accident, nor get a speeding ticket. I wasnt a saint, but I knew not to f**k around behind the wheel!

Also, it is hard to rip up the roads in a beige 1.3 Escort!
