Your right, it's nonsense...let me work it out again. The test is to drive from 3000rpm to the redline (7500rpm) in 3rd and the time stamp in the logs for 4200 is deducted from the time stamp at 6500 for WOT. The 42 to 95 would be for the 3000 rpm to redline so the 2.9 secs actually refers to 50ish to 83. Let me check what mine does at 4200 in third and I'll come back to you.

OK....so 4200 is 58mph & 6500 is 91mph. So it is 58 to 91 in 2.9secs.

No, it's the Saturn Rocket, disguised as a green Audi estate!

Seriously contemplating one of these.

Just out of interest...at 100mph what revs would an RS4 be doing and what revs would a sorted Scooby be doing?
I have a P1, although its blisteringly quick on acceleration its revving its **** off on the motorway...very economical

The RS4 is geared for 195mph at the 7500 redline so...100mph is 3846rpm

Thanks, that says I'd prefer an RS4 for that type of driving

The new m3 clearly outperforms the n/a rs4 in straight line speed by some margin. So audi will up the stakes again, them bmw and so on,great for the few who are able to afford these cars!

Almost certainly that the next RS4 will be a V6 3.0l with biturbo. Expect something in the range 450-475 BHP. The B8 chassis will have a number of avantages over the B5 or B6/B7 versions, not least the engine will be further back compared with all other Audis (A5 excepted).

Even if the current M3 is a faster circuit car I'd still rather have the B7 RS4 for the fit and finish as well as the Quattro....

Did you notice the sign that says "Other Marques" when you wandered into this discussion ? Type 25 is a great car however it isn't cheap...and the figures your quoting are for a standard B7 RS4 against a highly modified Impreza, the Type 25. If you care to read the previous posts on this thread you'll see that the glorious Type 25 may have met it's match...

And what amazingly cheap and fast Impreza do you drive that is going to kick my Audis *** then ?
