Audi RS4

OK...My B5 RS4 is 547BHP so it may well keep up with a Type 25 in a straight line.
A number of B7 RS4s have dynoed at 370-380BHP and regardless of what Audi do have not made 414BHP. Several people have, in fact, returned their cars on this basis and have full refunds. The rumour is that only the press cars made 414BHP and those 'expired' rather quickly, although this is rumour.
Regardless of the actually power output it's still a great car althought the B8 S4 and then the B8 RS4 which are based on the A5 platform will be even better, the B8 S4 is mean't to be a 3.0 V6 biturbo with 360 BHP so the B8 RS4 will need to be 480-500BHP

Despite loving the scoobies, I have to admit the B7 RS4 is one seriously desirable piece of kit. Build/quality of materials etc is the best out there IMHO. Would hae one over any BMW / Merc etc. Have to wait until I carry out a robbery to afford one though

Last year we went to the Ring and one of the guys with a B5 RS4 running 650 BHP did a run down the Autobahn, 4 up and showed 202MPH on the GPS....not bad for an Estate
Before anyone points out the obvious this particular car has lengthened 6th gear.

OK girls, this should end the discussion:
"Performance has risen substantially from the original Type-25:
* 415bhp @ 6,500rpm (400bhp from 5,800rpm − 7,000rpm)
* 570Nm / 420lbft @ 3,800rpm (300lbft from 3,000rpm)
* 8,000rpm Redline
* 304bhp/ton
* 0−60mph in 3.7sec
* 0−100mph in 8.7sec
* 157mph limited top speed (175mph gearing, taller gearing also under review)"

Ummm...looks quick.
However
RS4 B5
547 BHP (Over 400BHP from 3500 to 7500 rpm)
580 lbft
7600 rpm Redline
1650Kg so 301 BHP per ton
0-60 3.2 secs (based on a 500BHP S4's time...650BHP RS4 did 3.0)
don't know 0-100 but 42mph to 95mph in third is 2.9 secs
Top speed...something over 190mph
Ohh yea, 93000 miles as well ...in fact my RS4 produces more power at the wheels (421 BHP) than the Type-25 does at the crank. Of course the engine in the RS4 was built by Cosworth and has 5 valves per cylinder.

So do you have pics of that animal with 547 BHP?

Did I mention the 380 x 34 mm front discs with 8 pot Brembo calipers or the 335 x 32 mm rears with 4 Pot Porsche calipers on the rear....just in case you need to stop Or the ported and polished head, hybrid turbos, cast inlet and exhaust manifolds, full Milltek with sports cats and downpipes, 600cc injectors and a DUH FMIC intercooler.... Full black leather Recaro interior and the fact that it cost me £18500 2 months ago... I have receipts for £30K worth of work from the first owner
Only downside is it's green
Damn fast car, makes my old 420BHP S4 feel like it's standing still

The engine has had a £12.5K MTM conversion but I've recently had the car remapped by MRC Tuning with new injectors and it's running much better.

I have looked through that site there's is a lot of info on there,the only thing that puts me off the B5 S4 is that although it sounds quick it seems a lot of members on that forum find theirs quite slow and say the handling isn't up to much either.

A standard B5 S4 is a reasonably quick car which is OK round the bends....with a little money spent it can be a pretty good car (330BHP) and handle. The B5 A4 chassis suffers from having the engine in front of the wheels so there is a limit to what can be done but it isn't as bad as some people would have you believe.
The 2.9sec refers to a thing called a FATS test which is a third gear run from 4200 rpm to 6500 which is then measured via a VAG-Com cable. There is a database here which shows the difference BHP makes to the times. Just be aware that the gearbox ratios in a RS4 are different to an S4 so the results aren't comparable. MRC Tuning - Custom engine management for Audi, Seat, Skoda, Volkswagen
Kim Collins has a supercharged B7 S4 which is a MTM conversion....Qs Tuning
