The link didn't work for me, so haven't seen the story, as maybe others haven't too.

Thank you for a link to the story that worked for me. Obviously this story is tragic, and again shows the sorry state we live in. I apologise for bantering on this thread, but I didn't know the story.

Just don't like to sound like I've been disrespectful.

from me it is trench/gallows humor.

It is now almost an everyday occurance in the UK.

It is a sad tale and little seems to be being done about it.

I se Cameroon wants to get tough and increase the stop and search powers, excellent idea that i am sure will be defeated by some mealy mouthed human right crusader intent on keeping the scumbags safe from persecution/prosecution. Good, it need doing, doing properly and even if some scumbags human rights are infringed then tough!

Enough is enough.

I also see Brown had jumped on that particular bandwagon - even though 10 years ago one of the rallying cry was "tough on crime, tough on the causes of crime".

Parents, communities, police, government, schools all have a part to play in this,

I refer back to Karen Newlove's speech - she is spot on.

I am an ex "council house type" from long ago, and in my day, on my "estate", it was pretty harmonious. Only when "selling property" off for profit did the rot begin IMO.

How can this possibly happen when they keep telling us that crime is reducing all the time? One might almost begin to doubt their veracity!

Sorry for the bloke who was murdered.

How did selling off council houses cause the social disaster we are facing now?
