Close but no cigar, the amps and subs all have quick release connectors and the whole lot comes out of the car in a matter of minutes. No half measures here
Its also close to 500bhp do you really think amps and subs slow it down that much??

Assumed given that it has a full roll cage that it was for track use?
In which case, weight is a more important factor than the raw power.
If not....why do you have a roll cage in a 500bhp road car for street use? In case you roll it on the sainsburys roundabout racing your Saxo mates?

It's seen plenty of trackdays thanks. Thats why all the audio gear can be removed in a matter of minutes. Atleast this is the right car for the job.
"drifting" round the streets of London in a 335i BMW estate ROFL. Pure comedy!!
I'd love to go head to head on a track with you in that bus, I really would. I'd even leave the audio in AND carry a passenger. Infact as you mentioned Sainsbury's I'll even do a weeks shopping and leave that in the boot.
Then we'll see what's fit for purpose and what's not.

Bored of this conversation now, you are a pure troll, I've had my fun but you're clearly not of intelligence to bring anything new to the game and keep going back to the same frankly slightly odd idea of me spending all my time drifting around central london.
In terms of track driving, it's not all about power. If you want to go fast on track you'd do better to spend money on tuition not just a big turbo.
I'll leave you with a short vid of my old scooby showing how a car with nearly half your current power can catch and pass most things. The instructor was one of the team responsible for setting up and testing the Focus RS.

I'm sure you'll have more inane, poorly thought through / poorly executed comments based on the last few pages of drivel

You're clearly a keyboard warrior hiding behind the anonimity his office PC
You're obviously making assumptions without any kind of foundation whatsoever. I've spent more time on tracks than you ever will and not just in cars.
As we're posting clips and things here's a couple of me on proper toys!!
Knee down on a handbuilt Spondon based on a Bandit 1200 (175bhp / 165kg)
At Cadwell Park coming over "the mountian" on my everday bike GSXR1000 K2
Trust me fella you're in absolutely no position to play the "i'm faster than you on track card" you niether have the skill nor the equipment.
I don't usually rise to the bait in pissing contests so pat yourself on the back for that achievment though.
Now get back in your box there's a good chap

I cannot believe you are getting so arsy about this, it is obvious Edcase has bought one car which is the best possible compromise for all of his needs. You can go on about a 500 bhp Scooby all you like and yes it may be faster round a track etc..... but i'd like to see it covering hundreds of miles carrying passengers and bikes in comfort, not breaking down and costing a fortune to repair or having any sort of resale value when the time comes to change.
Why do people feel the need to jump all over someone just because they don't agree with all of their views?

So to quickly sumarise this, on one had you have a guy that buys a car to cover all the bases he requires, as he only has one car parking place. So the cars function is to:
a) carry his bike etc
b) go to work and not wake his neighbours up with his rude boy exhaust
c) travel in comfort across the country and Europe and arrive in some fit state to enjoy being where ever he's got to.
d) enjoy the occasional trackday and has a laugh drifting it about
on the other you have the man
a) who is considerably fast than the lot of ya.
b) Knows more about cars than you.
c) Has a bizarre fetish about the purchases of others.
d) appears to be jealous of Ed for some reason.
Any way enough of the **** competition i am considerably faster than the lot of you.

Did you throw up the first time? This thread is going from the sublime to the ridiculous. Daz I have the utmost respect for you but you're not doing yourself any favours by perpetuating matters. TBH honest you were a little blunt in your comments and became dictatorial in your assertions. Take a step back and stop being so pigheaded. Ed does not have to explain his purchase and what he does with it to you, me or the bloke next door. For the record I don't agree with your comments about the Beemer, I consider them to be very accomplished driving machines. However you are entitled to your opinions, just don't expect them to be agreed with or taken as gospel.

No i didn't but i went green and had to have a few quiet hours collecting my scrambled senses.. The drive home was rather slow, mind you what do you expect in a diesel mondeo

Now I know you're full of it. Subaru driver average at best, plenty of understeer there. The Porsche driver did not have a clue. He should have left you for dead. He was on the brakes far too early and not hard enough. Give that car to somone with capable hands you wouldn't have stood a chance. He knew his limits thats why he let you pass rather than you over taking him. There's a world of difference!!
And just to clear it up, my Subaru had very little understeer due to all the chassis mods I had done specifically to dial it out. What you are seeing in the video in most cases is a slight 4-wheel drift provoked by a throttle lift entering the corners specifically to counter the understeer, hence the instructor saying several times 'that's it, drift it out'.
I would have thought an esteemed racer of your caliber would have noticed that.
BTW pulling a wheelie doesn't really impress me, I have a Ducati Monster M900 with race cans and a cog less on the rear that will wheelie all day long, but nice shots all the same.
Are we done now?

yup, and do't get the wrong idea i don't fly them, i've been fixing them for years, 8 to be precise, and that trip was a result of a plot hatched by my mate, (who does fly them and my Boss), if you think i would fly willingly in something i worked on then you are sadly mistaken.
Twas fun though.

Nah Neil Briggs. I remember from chatting to him it turned out he knew my mate who owns Evolution game studios in Warrington, and had actually bought his old house!
