It certainly looks like a V2 WRX. It's not what he claims it is at all, just a WRX. The v2's a re a bit nicer than the v1's as they have the grey/black interior as opposed to the awful red stuff. You could get the model code from him and make sure.

The version 2 wrx's are good cars IMO.

To be fair the guy does say he took it in px, so maybe he didn't chav it up. Just check it out properly and make sure it's all one colour (silver is notoriously hard to match if it's been painted)

De-stickered and a set of std lights it'll be fine.

The price isn't anything amazing, £3k is about right for a good v2 WRX. Just make sure it's a decent car.

Harsh hmm nope, just being realistic that's all.

Im just being honest to mango that's all, id hate to see a thread 2-3days later where the something like the gearbox has decided to spill it's guts.

Far nicer examples can be had, just a bit of patience is needed, all he has to do is post up examples of what he likes and take it from there.

the point is that mango has already given half the money so in my mind he has bought it, so the last thing hes going to want to hear is that.

Mango, get the vin number of the guy and pm it to me, and ile check it for you, thats really the easy way round this, but I would say its certainly not an sti.

not necessarily fella, but you must understand for the purists on here, daft vinyls/bling bling wheels/lexus-afterburner lights etc etc are a big no no.

the way your original post came about, seemed to me personally as a wind up. if this honestly isnt the case, fair does, good luck, but i personally would have looked about more and not bought off ebay without a good knowledge of what i was looking at.

this is coming from someone who got stung with a dog of a wrx in may 2006. mr naive was my name back then and it cost me in the end £1000s

wht not buy a nice clean unabused looked after example off a member on here? theres always early wrxs/uk turbos being sold, without going for the first "bucket" (used lightly this time) off ebay.

at least by being part of this community, you will have a wealth of knowledge and guidance to dip into if/when something goes wrong. best of luck anyways chap
