Not only have you wasted remarkable amounts on sub-standard 'top' players (all of which were, at one time or another, hailed as the last piece of the jigsaw, the 'corner turning' signing), but Rafa's been pulling foreign youngsters from every source possible, trying to replicate Arsenal's success.

Sadly, you simply don't have the knack to be able to continue their development.

The Liverpool FC Roundabout - Turning the corner for 18 years and counting.
9.21 post and got to be contender for worst of the day.

last piece of the jigsaw? corner turning ? can you back it up with who is actually saying this or you just like spinning cliches ?

as for rafa emulating arsene? where did you get that from?

I'll reword - how many are in the squad (of what, 42?) and have made pushes for selection?

You must admit that Rafa has gone a tad wild in trying to replicate Arsenal's policy, yet has very, very little to show for it.
Itandje is on the bench for pretty much every game, Lucas is often picked, Jack Hobbs is playing more first team games, Insua has played, I won't go on. Most of those you have picked out are just the ones bought in the summer who are playing for the reserves. They, of course, need time to break into the first team. I've watched many reserve games and there is some real talent. There are others in the squad that are product of the academy.

Michael Owen, Steven Gerrard, Robbie Fowler, Steve McManaman and Jamie Carragher . . . all products of the LFC academy.

I'm glad Rafa is buying in young talent, rather than over expensive has-beens.

Morientes excepted

It all comes from your fans - although, it has to be said mostly during the summer. Once Christmas has come and gone, it all goes a little quiet. Odd.

You raised the point about Arsenal having a 'cheap as chips' squad due to all of their foriegn youngsters. Rafa has tried the same (DJ Dunk - do you have a full list of youngsters purchased during the past two years?), and has also brought in big money players to try and add substance to your challenge. Yet, still, there's nothing in it but talk.

Not got a list to hand.

Worth mentioning though that these are all out on loan which seems to be their preferred option, to loan them out for more experience:

Scott Carson
Nikolay Mihaylov
Godwin Antwi
Miki Roque
Robbie Threlfall
Paul Anderson
Danny Guthrie
Adam Hammill
Besian Idrizaj
Anthony Le Tallec
