He knows how to put his foot in it doesn't he! A rather silly comment from someone in his position!

Although he is right to point out the damage that the socially accceptable drugs alcohol and smoking do.

How is this so ? It's just a synthesised chemical compound : methyl dioxy meth amphetamine hydrochloride. So should be easily reproduced with the right ingredients and techniques, surely ?

I was waiting for this to turn up, and its interesting to see the ex ravers who are now car enthusiats and their take on what Brunstrom has said.

For the record, as well as personally knowing a man who has taken 15 pills a weekend every weekend for a period of six years, I agree with him.

Doesnt stop him from being a complete A-hole though!

Oh and I completely agree with all the leah betts comments. The only thing that killed her was her parents. Their ten year media whoring and ill judged, misguided claptrap (remember when they tried to ban chill out rooms? I mean, FFS!) was nothing more than a manifestation of the guilt they felt at mudering their own daughter through lack of education.

In fairness Rhod, if someone has taken fifteen pills a weekend for the last six year, it rather supports the claim that 'e' isnt what it once was...

Not sure I understand the first sentence?

Yes, MDMA is one of a family of a chemicals called phenethylamines. That nice Doctor Shulgin has synthesised about 190 derivatives (can't remember the exact number as I don't have my own copy of PIHKAL). At various times about twenty of them have appeared in this country, including MDA, MDEA, MBDB, 2C-B, 2C-H, 2C-I, 2C-T-7, 4-MTA, DOB and DOM. All have been short-lived fads (or more probably, experiments). I'm guessing that it was a rather garbled attempt at this that T5OLF was referring to.

Yes, I analyse the stuff for a living.

Close: methylenedioxymethylamphetamine.

Yes. The hard part is the ingredients bit. Try buying P2P or BMK and see what happens. And why do you think essential oil shops don't sell sassafras oil these days?

Good point, but it also holes the notion that you're dicing with death with every pill you put in your mouth, which just aint the truth.

No argument there; although the 'lecture' scene in Human Traffic springs to mind.....

If that is case then why are pills now of a very poor quality compared to 15 years ago?

I was told it was because they could not get hold of the chemicals to make them that way any more but you could get hold of other chemicals that were similar but had different affect on your body.

Who do carry out these tests for and why?

Everything is poorer than fifteen years ago - it's called Rose Tinted Spectacles. But yes, MDMA dosage has dropped, but only by about 25% IIRC.

Yes, the original starter chemicals are harder to find. But that just means that you start further back up the line and make the pre-cursors yourself as well. Yields are lower, but MDMA is MDMA is MDMA. How much you put in a tablet is up to you of course.

Pills were better in the early nineties, then MDEA came out and was cheaper so pills were made out of that, and it was **** cos it gave you a come down.
Proper MDMA doesnt stop you sleeping or getting stoned after a rave, and doesnt give a nasty come down either

MDMA "powder" is easily available round here, doesnt give you a come down, only need about 0.3 of a gram for it to work properly, so a gram will get two of you nicely smashed for a few hours (0.5 each in a bomb), too much can make you trip your **** off though, i have videos of mates thinking they are at work when sat in a mates front room to prove it!

-25% /= "very poor quality".

And you seemed to have joined up two phrases which I carefully separated with a full stop. Which what full stops are for. If I'd wanted to link those two phrases I would have used a colon. The specific truth of phrase two does not in any way affect the general truth of phrase one: people DO always think that things were better when they were young, specifically when they were a teen. It just so happens that in this case there is a SMALL element of truth.

What pills have you tested and over what period and who for? I took them for 15 years and have seen how they have changed over that time. All I have quoted is my experience over that time and how I think thay have changed. Oh and I never took drugs in my teens

Wasn't there a scare about prolonged usage, manic depression and permanently low serotonin levels as a result of too much E ? Or was this just government propaganda?

I never knew the truth about Leah Betts, but I do now thanks to this thread. Sorted!

Yes a good enough answer, but my point is, soft drugs so easily lead people into the really injurious ones and then you are really on the downhill slope. Also Marijuana/Skunk now is so powerful compared to years ago-up to 40 times stronger now I gather and that leads to rapid brain damage too.

I think that the use of such drugs should be strongly discouraged and children educated about the very real dangers from an early age before they are sucked into starting.

Yes of course alcohol is also bad for you in excess as is smoking. Not as dangerous in the first place to people who understand the dangers even though we see so many very young people doing themselves so much personal damage these days. Once again education must be the answer and stricter controls by parents in the first place who should set the proper example.
