Hmmm, cheers for the advice everyone, but I'm still undecided. If money wasn't an issue, I'd go for the P1 every time, but I want a Subaru with lower mileage than my current WRX (77,000) and something that is going to be reliable.
That said, if I went for an STI, I know I'll just be constantly thinking that I'd rather have a P1.
To be honest, I'm not dedicated or wealthy enough to spend money on improvements and upgrades - I just want an unmodified Scoob that goes like stink and puts a huge smile on my face

It took me a few months to find a decent 1, but when i did i knew it was the right 1 streight away

Yes as it's totally wrong. As above I'm not getting into another argument on typeR versus P1 as it's pointless. I've owned a 22b, typeR and P1 and everyday driving for a 'normal' driver the P1 is the stand out car no question. If you want a track car and it has to be an Impreza, then get a typeR. But why anyone would want an Impreza as a track car when they can have an Elise I don't know.
The amount of rubbish spouted on P1 v typeR debates makes my blod boil. It normally goes along the lines of a P1 is a typeR with the best bits taken off, utterly stupid.
