Timbo,
I know what you mean! I have got 40,000 miles on the car and put the magnex box on about 3 weeks ago! My god, I cannot believe I went without it for so long!! It does sound ace!
As for other mods, I put a GGR quickshift on and thats it. It doesn't need to be any faster for me, and again I can't justify the costs involved. Especially as we have just moved house, the wife has stopped work and our firstborn is due in May!! As it is, my spare cash is going on new kitchens, decorating, house extensions etc....I have even had to forego my Motorbike...which I am most unhappy about!!
I'll also keep an eye out on the Southern meets, but it does entirely depend when I am in the office or not!

Jim,
Do you live up in Yorkshire and commute then? That must be a bind!!!
Mine cam with the factory fitted quickshift - though I'd hate to know what the 'slowshift' is like 'cos I don't find it that brilliant......the clutch drags a lot and it's very hard to get a smooth change under any circumstances other than flat out!!!!
I know what it's like when the kids come along....however being that much older I now have the joys of getting my teenaged kids through University!!!! Also have a grandkid on the way which will do nothing to help me loose the 'grey old git' image!!! nyeeaaaahhhh!!!
Sounds like you and Tiggs would have a lot in common - he's a frustrated biker too....I never liked bikes (actually never tried one, have this vision of a bloody and painful death within 30 seconds of climbing on.....something to do with no sense of balance or coordination!!!)

Frustrated biker hit that nail on the head!!
I passed my test in August last year, and then decided to buy a bike in September.....on Sept 11th whilst the Twin Towers were falling down, Jacky found out she was pregnant.....wave bye bye to that bike!!!
But hey, as soon as the kitchen is in, decorating done etc etc ...
I'm originally from Yorkshire, we lived daan Saaf for 10 years and to be honest we both fancied moving back up north...more family and friends about....and we got a huge house for £20k more than we sold our old terrace!!! And Jac could give up work earlier (Sister for an Elderly Care Ward - Not much fun!) etc. It defo has it's benefits! So a couple of days in the office a week doesn't seem to bad really!

Do any of the bikers (or would be) here go to any of the meets, ie Lord Derby/Odiham? If so, during the summer we should get a bunch of the "Scooby owning Bike Riders" together and go for a bit of fun down the back lanes.
And before J (ScoobySnacks) pops up, I know you have done!

No Tiggs,
Like relaxed and less crowded.....where roads aren't filled with Mondeos and Focii getting in the way and even bikers would appreciate the room.....though I don't suppose the country folk would appreciate an R1 or a Scoob on full chat down one of their lanes!!!!!
Ageism has a way of coming back to bite you....you'd better hope you don't get wrinkly real quick.....don't forget, in percentage terms, I will be getting less 'older than you' every day now....
You'd better hope to die young.....

I sense a bit of a Punch up coming on
Well, If I ever get a ruddy bike , I would be more than happy to attend a Scoobynetters with a Bike meet..I could probably drag a few of the local biking hero's along as well. When I get the chance I do cadge a lift down to Sherburn to the Bikers Cafe - Although I hear they have just bought a new place - bigger and better!
I firmly believe that 'Good things come to those who wait'.. so I am not too frustrated!

J, I have heard similar rumours about it being closed.. I'll ask some of the gang, they might know.
Timbo, if you want somewhere quiet, I can recommend Shetland! Thats where my Father lives....tons of quiet, empty roads..and there isn't a single Gatso on any of the islands.
It's a bit of a trek up there, but the Folk Festival is one NOT to miss.

J I'm not sure if it's closed or not ? I'll swing by there sometime during the week and have a look. Any excuse for a quick drive in the Scooby down the B3349
There's still always Chelsea Bridge, or Boxhill?
