Matt - 9pm - now withdrawn due to stress of losing the lan session on sunday

I have no worries about being beaten at the LAN session Stevie

Least I stay on a server if I get killed more than twice instead of spitting my dummy and throwing every toy out my pram and leaving after 5 minutes

I'm just taking a break. Last night I just didn't have that usual "nice" feeling when playing. In fact, I'd go as far to say I wasn't enjoying it

steve m8, I will available from 8.00 if anyone wants to run through some stuff before hand

Idea I had was to think of the maps as sections.

An example for dust would be,

sect 1 - your spawn
sect 2 - tunnel
sect 3 - under bridge
sect 4 - bomb site 1
sect 5 - bomb site 2

insted of people shouting out things like "arg he is under the tunnel thing by the you know aaaak dead" you can say enemy at sect 2, or I need backup sect 2. Dust is a bad example as it is relatively easy but for a map like militia you could have

sect 1 - your spawn
sect 2 - sewers
sect 3 - out front
sect 4 - roof
sect 5 - out back

This may complicate things a bit to start with but I am sure after a few goes people would remember?

or if this is too complicated then have everyone use the same phrase for the same area of the map as I get confused on some maps as to which bit people mean. For some reason I always think the bridge on aztec is through the double doors to the right of the CT spawn.

As sad as this is but I read some of the europen CS cup game (whats the bloody word I am looking for you know scripts) things and it was quite interesting. On Dust both teams play very deffensive, each player has fixed position on the map within a chosen defense plan. Once in position each team then moves slowly to another position making sure they can defend that area from all angles. Whenever they attempted to rush or flank the team from behind using one player then it usually lead to the team breaking down and loosing because the other team had such a close defensive group.

Another good point Damaja has mentioned is that when we are working together in teams we always forget to do one thing. Cover the rear! Many times I have been under the bridge on dust just for Matt to jump down behind us and kill us all.

What we need to do is assign team members simple jobs first. Say for example - team of 5
Team Leader - with two forward guards
two rear guards depending on map

Also if you have enough money, buy and use flashbangs!

I quite often guard the rear (as I always die rushing around ) but it gets mistaken for camping It definately makes sense but the number of times (especially Aztec) that everyone goes one way & the Ts come racing round the other without anyone guarding is not good. Against that is that if you do split your forces and you face a rush, then you are more likely to get severely splatted

Flashbangs are good & I think more use should be made of smoke on offensive or defensive situations. I had a fun time on one of the Assaults last night lobbing grenade after grenade at the building Hadn't realised that you can stock up on grennys for 120 seconds after spawn

Another quick tip, if you back onto a door it will open outwards insted of inwards. This is useful on assault at the back door, if you are a ct make sure you have one to open the door by backing onto it and the other to cover the angle through into the warehouse.

Yeah team ideas sound good as long as the connection is better than last night. Prob wont stay much longer than 10.30 as I have to be up at 5am and had a late night last night.

As we need to practice at being CT and T put a restart halfway through the intended first map where everybody can change sides.
