Nothing since the last time yet, although I am hoping to have my swirl pot installed and have the boost turned up a bit more. Hoping to keep up with Dazza as he breaks into the 10's, lol.

I bet you're over the moon?!

You can't beat the huge torque the 2.5 delivers - 505lb ft!!! I bet that makes for one hell of an 'effortless' roadcar?!

Awesome stuff.

If you wanna overtake, I bet you have to give a biggish gap to the car in front... and then whoooosh, you've warpdrive'd past a long queue in an instant?

Car - MY05 Sti Type UK
MD Variant - 321T+
Supporting Power Mods - 800cc PE injectors, Fuel Lab FPR set to 3.5 bar, Meercat custom 3 inch decat exhaust, GT spec2 headers and up pipe, APS Inner wing CAI 33% E85 Apexi AVCR and an Andy Forrest remap, still running a top mount
Max boost by what RPM - 1.8 bar @ 3400ish
Max power by what RPM - 450ish just under 6000rpm as this is where im inlet hose colapses and boost drops to 1.2bar
Max torque by what RPM - about 430ish lbs-ft
Drivetrain Mods - Exedy twin plare hyper clutch
Other comments - in process of twisting the turbo, got H&S downpipe and up pipe, will be getting a custom induction kit made when this is fitted so should get a bit more yet

Question

Steve, is that 402bhp on straight V-Power only?

If so, it's presumably the combo of 550s/STi TMIC that's holding you back (T is capable of up to 450bhp on V-Power, I think).

But impressive that the 550s and TM got you over the 400 mark nonetheless.

Steve, is this achieved also on a 2.0L? How does the T feel? Can you describe it (compared to your previous, smaller OEM turbo)...?

Thanks in advance for any detailed feedback. And stuff lol.

Hey matey,

V-power with 100mls of NF Octane booster. Also yes on standard 2.0l STi engine. Not sure how a T would be on a newage WRX engine though as the STi cams/timing help a lot.

Your right, the injectors and TMIC are the only thing holding me back.

In terms of the T i think it depends on what you use the car for and how your drive.
On the oem vf35 its better for when you want that quick over take moment as the vf35 suffers from some surging issues.
My car is used everyday so the T is ideal for everyday driving conditions in my view. I wouldn't say it's laggy for such a big turbo on a 2.0l as its nice to drive without having to worry to much about when to change gear.

I think the Lateral Headers and up-pipe come into play also for the T over VF35 and OEM headers/up-pipe set up.

The turbo is ready to be used when you want it. When it kicks in it really kicks in nicely too.

I brought the T as this would be future proof for me. I can't see why when a set of 650cc or 800cc injectors go on and a FMIC that 450bhp and 400lbft cannot be had out of it. For an everyday car/family car/shopping car its going to be great fun.

Hope this helps. If it doesn't make sense (I have a hang over) let me know and I will write another bit of feedback.

Thumbs up

Makes perfect sense mate - thanks a lot. .

I'm in the same boat in that I want 400... BUT on only 97RON! (so a T would fir the bill).

First though, I'm going to max out my TD05 16g very soon, by getting Zen to fit/remap a Hyperflow FM; ported OEM headers/up-pipe; IK; 740s (all mods have been pre-purchased 2nd hand ).

I want to see how I feel about the (very tractable) 340-350bhp that the 16g should make, before deciding to springboard for more.

The beautiful thing is, is that I'd I'd only need to add a 321T/remap to attain the 400 (okay okay, lets not mention gearboxes... ).

I'm about to get a newage for a daily car and was thinking about some variant of MD321: Ans that sound about what I'm after, with 2 maps so I can have one for E85

Finally got a boost plot of my 2lSti with the MD321T. STi TMIC, Sainsburys 97ron - No Additives.

RR operator said if they changed the ramp rate it would come in sooner. Dastek rollers on Ramp rate 2.

Love the way the T maintains at least 1.45bar from 4k to the redline - so linear.

Indeed it actually increases to c.1.6bar by 5750rpm and carries on till it peaks at 6700rpm!

Had to abandon the the run @ 7200 as I was getting serious det Joz which turns out to be a fueling problem, Ecu retarded ignition by 15degrees @ one stage. The det was that bad it showed as spikes in the powergraph.
Got 390 when the throttle was lifted.

I am using a perrin 3 port boost soleniod also to control the boost but recently found it its plumbed in wrong so I'm sure it will work better when plumbed correctly and remapped to sort out the fuelling.

Bugger to the BCS/fuelling.

But when all properly sorted should see 410-430bhp, at a guess!

Let us know when it's sorted, and post up final figures if you would...

The boost control manages the flat line, my H managed 2+ bar @ 4000 rpm before mapping, easily enough to destroy my engine.... if it had been used !

I understand he gets inundated!

And he''s pretty much out mapping most of the time too (obviously).

Totally.

As you said, it wanted to really boost... but you had to get it reigned it in for fear of you motor!

That's why we love 'big' compressors - they have large CFM-based appetites!

What did Simon remap to? 1.4bar? 1.5bar? What bhp now? (You had 397bhp when at 2bar, right?)
