ReMap a 99 UK spec Turbo
Yeah ur rite there, but i was advised by the tuner as well not to be running high boost until i got the ecu fitted and mapped....so i run the car at the mo on low boost setting and dont rake it!!
Im getting the haltech ecu fitted in the next few weeks, should i notice a big difference in the fuel consumption when the ecu is fitted and mapped with the fmic etc??
The car is quite thirsty at present!!

depends how its mapped, you can make a individual map more economical rather than going for more power if you want, or can go for full out, ***** to the wall, the more fuel the better etc or you can get a happy medium, relay tis up to you how you want it done, have chat with the mapper and sure they can do it how you want

there is room for improvement in the cruise and part throttle areas of the original map which will improve mpg as well as by custom tuning to the individual set up lots more throttle response and power. If you have it tuned for the absolute max there should still be a big improvement when cruising on the motorway for example.. but obviously if you drive with pedal to the metal then it would use more fuel
