The thing most scoob owners don't realise (not all on here lol) is they aren't supercar quick but some honestly believe it,but true petrol heads can appreciate different marques .

I'm a bit confused why so many of you think that an Escort Cosworth wasting an Impreza is such a far fetched concept?

why are you confused by it, a ford escort simply cannot "waste" a subaru impreza type ra-r (see what i did there)

in all seriousness though a car 'wasting' another car implies that there is simply no contest between the two, which is not true now is it, they are at very simply levels (well a standard escort cossie and a standard WRX that is) the sti is another level again. and is more than a second quicker to 100kmh than a esco, kinda like saying a lexus is300 wasted a cossie, sounds a bit far fetched now doesn't it.

Cossie was a quick car in its day no doubts. End of day its a Ford (say no more!) with 3rd party engine prone to smoking turbos. Was good motor but to compare one to a Scoob is silly really. Basically a cack Ford engine souped up by Cosworth. Having owned a few Fords have to say they are all rubbish and would NEVER buy another! Throw 10k at aSkoda Octavia and its gonna worry Scoobs. Standard STI will slay the Cossie!

At least people don't think that Cossies are all owned by a chavs !

A good car, needs a good driver, I rarely play with numpties, but show me a "supercar" and I'm itching.... up to 30 mph officer.

Oh christ.....yes ok if we're analysing the use of the english language in the thread then you do indeed win I was just going on the title of the thread! Of course I wouldn't expect a standard Cosworth to completely leave an STi like it was standing still, but the way people are talking on here they seem to think that the mere thought of an Escort putting up a fight against their Subaru is completely far fetched.....and I dare say in a real world situation a lot of these people would be brought back down to earth very quickly
