Jim, you probably should have posted this in the General discussion area, as it is more likely to be seen by the driver in question.

Give me a minute though - I need to get some popcorn

wimpieguy 26 October 2007 01:16 PM

Might have been me. I drive like an old codger.:D

shag 26 October 2007 01:22 PM

Is it me (and i may be wrong) but are some of the guys from the cossie forum coming on here and boasting how they nailed/destroyed/burnt away an impreza, then they disapear off the forum with 1 post never to be seen again?
:wonder:

jaytc2003 26 October 2007 01:23 PM

feel good beating a scoob running on 2 cylinders with a massive air leak as well from the fmic :wonder:

killerscoob 26 October 2007 01:34 PM

Cosi's Are old news! I have raced two and it was the same outcome! they ended up in my rear view mirror, But watch out for the Nissan Pulsar Gt ( I think that's what they are called) They are little S***'s ,I had a one up my arse the other night but I couldnt do much cause Of traffic on way home from work. What bhp do they normaly start and top of spec.

Wmscooby 26 October 2007 01:36 PM

Oh the shame of the person he beat probably saw him go by and thought to$$er and let him carry on driving like a &*%$ :lol1: :lol1: :lol1: :Whatever_ :Whatever_ :Whatever_

killerscoob 26 October 2007 01:43 PM

Actually he was up my arse goating me so I only gave him a bit of his own medicine. I dont drive like a tosser it cost to much.

Hol 26 October 2007 01:46 PM

Awww come on.

He has probably spent £10k on that classic ford shed trying to make it go faster than an ickle £4k UK Impreza :D

These classic car owners have got deep pockets.

Besides its 100kg lighter than factory due to the rust holes.

killerscoob 26 October 2007 01:56 PM

:wonder:

prob coz they need to spend most of there time fixing the car, rather than posting on the interweb :D

Escort coswoth a standard car + specialist engine from a 3rd party = scooby killer (???)

so a more accuate comparison would be scoob vs XR3i :D

killerscoob 26 October 2007 02:13 PM

what you on about Steve? Third Party?

Escos-Jim 26 October 2007 02:18 PM

Just a bit of fun boys...
scoob was a nice motor, 02 plate i think.... went well.
be interested in the spec :thumb:

Just a bit of fun...how dare you come on here and have fun :)

SN is not about fun, its about slating anyone who dare's have a go at impreza's.

jjcodex 26 October 2007 02:30 PM

Genuine question here folks. How easy is it to get 400bhp from a scooby then? I have a friend with an STiV which goes well, but appears to be stuck at the 350 bhp odd mark.

Also, providing there are no launches (which I fully accept will kill most transmissions with any reasonable power) how does the transmission hold up?

Slagging an Impreza?

Here?

With our reputation?

What is the man thinking?

The only Ford I'd ever really want. I'll be on here next year telling you all how I wasted an Impreza in my Lancia Delta - if it holds together that is :)

With the time money and inclination, quite easy to reach 400bhp. Its easier depending on which base model you start with, new clutch would be a must and maybe a spare gearbox knocking about :D

As for the Escos, still nice cars, stupidly overpriced and spend far too much time in the garage...would still have one though :)

banny sti 26 October 2007 02:47 PM

The STi 5 is a good base car to work with but you will need a fmic, 550cc injectors, MD321H turbo and a remap.

Banny

its only a good base once the OEM bottom end has let go :p:D

to answer the transmission question, there are quite a few 6speeds holding up at 400\400 but it will be the very limit of a 5spd sti box and you can forget even trying to pull away with a standard 5spd box :nono:

banny sti 26 October 2007 02:52 PM

I am on a standard bottom end with standard sti 3 gear box at around 380/390bhp with about 350 torque not had a single issue.

strange your profile says you have a "P1 Bottom end with a V9 crank" in an sti3...so hardly a standard sti5.:cuckoo:

I have a P1 box running substantially over 350\350 and I have no problems either...400\40+ is a different story.
