I know, I saw that thread .......... she's rather dishy

I was wondering what I had to do for the ScoobyNet Massive to get on my case and pester Currys

Spent the day with my family today, brother-in-law was going to buy a big flat TV from Currys until he heard what has happened to me ..... he bought elsewhere - thats a few ££££££££ Currys have lost through treating their customers so badly. It's not just me, it's a common factor in their business model.

Hi Les - yes, quite true .... each and every £ that moves away from Currys is just penalty for their wholesale disregard to their Customers!!

Your going to like this ....not!

I was unfortunate enough to get my house burgled a couple of weeks ago ...Anyway, I've just been on the phone (multiple times as they don't seem to know where there **** and elbows are located) and it looks like I'm going to get vouchers or the like from guess where

You can ask them for vouchers from elsewhere ..... I guess?

Certainly you don't want a house full of items from Currys or Dixons or PCWorld

I can just see when something has a fault and then you are blatantly ignored.

This looks like it may go to court, Currys have until next Tuesday to settle - I doubt they will do anything.

I cannot think how much it will cost them to go to court and then they will have to do what they should have done months ago ........ but will have to pay extra costs and have very bad press.

The stupidity of it is astounding ....

Take the TV to the store. Stand in the middle of the store shouting "MY TV IS FAULTY AND I WANT A REFUND. MY TV IS FAULTY AND I WANT A REFUND. MY TV....... "etc etc. They give in after half an hour and give you a refund. Some customers might think you are a bit mental, but their likely reaction is to go somewhere that doesn't have some nutter standing in the middle of the floor shouting, so this would be a bonus in your personal crusade to bring down Currys.

all good and well, but two points....

1. security wouldnt like this and would probably remove him...

2. if they dont surely the police would be called for disturbing the peace.

unless your suggestion was totally tongue in cheek

If security show up, let them put you out, then stand outside the door and scream in. If the police show up, explain to them that you are trying to get a refund but that you have been removed. Also, this is a handy time to make a complaint about the security man who just assulted you. Then change the chant to "MY TV IS FAULTY AND WHEN I ASKED FOR A REFUND I WAS ASSULTED BY A MEMBER OF CURRYS STAFF"

And i'm not sure it would work, people would just say "look at that nutter" and go about their business.

The thing is Pete, would Comet treat you any better. I'm looking at getting an LCD tv from Dixons online (cheapest price) and hear what you say.........but would anyone else be any better?

They match Currys prices ....... not sure if it matters if its a web-only price?

But, I can assure you, even if it costs more with John Lewis you will be so glad you paid the extra if/when things go wrong ................. it's the difference between treating a customer like **** (Currys) and treating a customer like a customer (John Lewis/Argos)

On another Consumer Issue ..... ebuyer has dealt with me perfectly, they have returned the faulty goods I purchased and refunded the return postage costs I had to pay.

There are good companies and then there are the Currys/Dixons/PCWorlds .... they are an utter disgrace to the retail profession and deserve to go down.
