Simon,
We supply the Broquet Fuel Catalyst to many car clubs through various schemes. Often straight to members on an individual basis but sometimes we strike a deal with club headquarters or, more often, with the editor of the club newsletter. This for quantity orders with either something to the club itself (a percentage on sales) or a declared discount to members which I prefer as it is open and above board and is seen as a real benefit to members. For example our discount structure would be 7.5% off for up to 10 orders received in a single order (and payment) to a maximum of 30% off for 50 or more units ordered at once. We don't expect the club to purchase up front but rather to take orders and payment from its members and then for the club to send through a bulk order to us.
As a supplier I think it would be helpful to potential suppliers if you could post a brief message on how you propose to run the shop, as it were. I assume you will not actually order and pay for stock (clothes aside) but would pass through orders to suppliers. You could also touch on other areas of interest to suppliers like method of payment etc. There are also contractual liability questions that you need to consider - are you an agent or supplier, for example?
A final thought (but I expect it will have crossed your mind) - what about contacting dealers and say you will list for sale vehicle stocks, with piccies etc, but want 2.5% if a sale results? This must be attractive to dealers with 4000 + Scooby enthusiasts on the board and 2.5% on twenty eight grand would buy a decent coffee machine for the shop! Did I read about a glut of P1s?? Anyway best of luck with the shop. Cheers David.

You're right, you can't.
Not via Royal Mail anyway, as it is flammable and is therefore resticted.
I think you need a special courier for this sort of thing.
Simon,
Do you intend the 'shop' to be open to any supplier wishing to trade in an open forum, or do you intend to strike up deals with suppliers first, then publish the products at their agreed prices?

How about being able to order the latest issue of Revs, Fast Car or whatever and then have is discretely delivered to your house under a plain wrapper?
Would save the embarrassment of having to go to the shop for it!
Chris.

Just hope everything is of the highest quality though ....
It would be nice to think that anything associated with the Scoobynet logo will be of highest quality (and in the case of car bits suitable scoobies and the type of use the car gets)
In the case of car bits and bobs, could reviews / recommendations by Scoobynet members be included ?
Gary
Ps
Oil, Pads, Tyres, Screen Wash, Antifreeze, Wax etc (general consumables)
