Default Sympathy ?

You can't expect much sympathy if you are in all that **** and blow your engine up doing 150 mph ?

I can't afford a new engine so I look after my car as best I can....

Doesn't mean it couldn't do 157 mph if I wanted, on my private test track,
still not good that you were ripped-off.

5 minutes on here would have got you loads of good advice, forget the 150 mph bollocks tho'

Phil you mentioned you have a Lawyer on the case? Either let him sort it out (hope he does otherwise you have another bill to pay out on top).

Or drop the Lawyer and have it out in small claims court. £50odd to file a claim (easy peasy done online). Take your chances the judge will take your side, but you will most probably need an independant to go over the engine installation to prove it was not as advertised and agreed.

Whatever you do, don't expect the full £2.5k back, because the garage did whatever they said they would from where I am sitting. So you are only likely to get back maybe the difference, or maybe nothing if the garage says the engine is fully warrenteed for x years.

It seems to me you have spat your dummy and have become unreasonable. Did the garage not offer to fix the leaks?

Regarding the damage, unless the garage picked the car up on thier own (i.e. no 3rd party tow co.) you won't have a leg to stand on in recovering damages. Also did you and the tow co. sign a condition of vehicle chitty before he drove off? I suspect not. All of lifes little learning game I'm afraid.

Some people don't ***** foot around in their cars though, like me .

Really ****'s me off when people come on here and it's all "NO WAY WERE YOU DOING 40 IN A 30 ZONE!"

**** off and get a life, this is a Subaru forum - if you don't like fast cars buy a diesel.

Sorry to say m8, this guy speaks a lot of truth. It's alright saying you were desperate an all that, but why did you buy a scooby that, according to you, was in such sh*t state?

Sorry, but I also think this is a wind up. Why? God only knows.

If your solicitor can't find the garage boss' home address or at least give you some ideas on how to find it - get yourself another solicitor because the one you are using is useless.

like i say no wind up,the car was supposed to have a full service history with subaru, but for around two years the guy i got it off only had receipts,i knew the clutch was on the way out straight away because it was riding high, then about to weeks after buying it started to slip on motorways in 5th,i think the people who keep saying wind up must of been ripped off them self, why would i come here and write so much,i get free legal aid but this does not cover the soliciter to take them to a small claims court because its under 5000 grand claim,i changed the oil after getting the clutch and flywheel put in,the oil what drained out was like sludge,i also changed the spark plugs which was a total nightmare, took out for a spin then engine blew,i also renewed the rubbers in the front brake callipers before this because brakes were sticking which was another mare,i also changed fuel filter fitted a k and n filter and bailey dump valve an put all new clear indicator covers on and lexus rear lights underseald it with hammerright.loved the car and it blew up.great start to a scooby new owners life.i have alot of knowledge about cars myself.they even broke my glove box handle because my service book got stamped off them and the book was in glove box,i aM 31 YEAR OLD HAD PLENTY OF EXPERIENCE,with alot like i say who ever says its a wind up can please them selves what they think, obiously some of you do not have the ***** to push your cars to the limit i always have and alwaYS will.
i come here for advice on a few things, never tried nos but my mate had in 400bhp cosworth with two turbos and a 7 grand engine rebuild and it took off practically,i am just intrested to see what some people have tried with the scoobys

I thought you were more interested in resolving your 'bad garage' issue.

Nah, still not happy with this at all, poor grammar and general reply lay out is all wrong for a supposed known user, this of course can be excused for known clynical reasons but to me its not right.

Can i also point out i have never been ripped off, unless you count paying for a pint of lager in London.

As mentioned nobody is that desperate to get there car fixed bad leg and finger included that they would send it some 4 hours away to an unknown garage for a £2500 repair ohh and then pay before inspecting the work.

You also mentioned you where on here in the past but then you mention a mate from e-bay pointed you to here when your engine blew at 150 MPH, again me smells a large rat.

Go and speak to your mate with the twin Turbo Cossie ohh and NOS which flies all for £7k he should know what to do.

Default Zippy

If you have nothing intelligent to say then please stop leaving me messages. I don't have to prove to you that I'm telling the truth, especially someone who's name is a brown puppet with a zip for a mouth. Maybe you should zip your mouth up and leave it zipped. I am on here for advice not for abuse and underhand comments. Everybody's got to start somewhere with a car and I was just unlucky with mine. You obviously have got a serious attitude I'm guessing you aren't very mature and you need to grow up. Who made you the only expert on subaru's. At least there are a few helpful people on here but you're sure not one of them.

You obviously have nothing better to do with your time than sit on your computer reeling of a load of rubbish to honest people who just need some advice, get a life. I'm sure that mine is a lot better than yours.

And don't take the p*** out of my mate as he's not the kind of person you want to poke fun at. Everything I have said is true if you choose not to believe me then I ain't gonna loose no sleep over it. Say hello to george and bungle for me won't you. You muppet!

Am I the only one who doesn't have a mate who is not to be messed with?

everyone on here seems to have a mate that is bigger than a house or harder than rock except me. I am feeling left out

Where do you find these mates and are there any going spare ?

philr just read the whole thread....

Mixed opinions.....

Guys n girls the chap has had a very bad experience and on top of that been ripped off, quite badly.

He has come on here for info which is what I would do but I would not expect this much abuse regarding what speed I should and shouldnt be doing. Thats my prerogative and philrs too as it is for anyone on here.

Truth be told I would RESEARCH ALOT HARDER b4 i let my cash go though....anyway....

Let your solicitor handle it. If he cant....change....

As mentioned earlier in the thread I drive my car with respect....doesnt mean I dont have FUN with it, BUT it is maintained harder than it is driven ....

Hope it all goes well chap and u get most if not all ur money back and these cowboys get their just deserts!

Just my tuppence.

To be brutally honest mate, I think you're screwed.
You chose to use the firm without researching who they were.
Maybe we should make this a post a 'sticky' and call it 'How not to go about getting your scooby engine repaired!'
