the figures do seem very poor to me. Wasn't this the car that many said could go 350 ?
Personally I would be asking questions..............I know figures aren't everything (it's all about how it drives
) but with any increse in power you will see a improvement but I think you sould see a better improvement than that.

Flywheel figure was 250 bhp !!!
So these after market headers and up-pipe i have fitted. Am i right in thinking they will up the torque and bhp in the high rev range?
I would prefer speed off the line than top end.Would i achieve this by putting my standard headers back on???

Delta Dash Road Dyno is the same for all users - start at low revs (1250 rpm iirc) and take it up on WOT to the redline. This will produce a more acurate guestimate than any dyno as it is taken in real world conditions.
Sure you could hop around from dyno to dyno to chase figures but what would it achieve - some read high than others, some measure coast down losses, some guess using a factor, some are just made up full stop depending on what the operator wants you to see or buy from them?
To be fair I chose to map it conservatively as it required a little over 3ltrs of oil to bring it up to level and there was no way of knowing if any damage had/has been caused whilst running with just 1.5ltrs and I didn't want to get the blame for a lost bearing or two.

after market headers and particularly up-pipe may well be too big - this would hurt spool up of the turbo and that would affect torque right the way up the rev range and ultimately BHP - that would be my guess. They dont generally need to be changed until over 400bhp at least with the likes of Andy F runnign OE headers on his Spec C even at a lot more than that.

So if i went back to my original headers would i need to have another re-map? Also how would replacing the original headers effect the fueling?.

Not sure how it would affect fuelling but it would affect spool up, engine loads and boost.

Std airbox on the 01 onwards cars is not an issue up to mid 300's. I have ran 400+ through it but it was starting to cause a restriction at that.
Beware of fitting induction kits too early as this can cause compressor surge and this will limit midrange torque.
Shaun (webby) documents this well in his thread, up to 350bhp and similar torque on his JDM was on the OE airbox, I think he got another few bhp with an induction but surge was an issue.

Going on the rolling road at 11.00 at Power Station. I appreciate they all give different readings and the road is better but i just want to compare it to the road reading Zak took for me.

Is the standard car not a 265BHP car at the Flywheel? How can your figure (after mods and remap) be 250BHP at the Flywheel?
Surely its closer to 250BHP at the wheels, meaning somewhere around 320-330BHP at the Fly?

If you have been mapping 10-15 Imprezas EVERY week, full time for the last 4 years and owned a JDM all that time yourself to experiment on..... then perhaps you would have.
I do however know when you started dabbling in open source mapping and that you were asking some very basic questions not so very long ago.
