Nearly ready for paint...

Managed to get the shell and all panels sanded down today, so tomorrow it's a case of masking the shell up, and getting some shiny paint thrown at it.

Also got hold of some heat reflective stuff, and put it in the areas near/around the turbo/exhaust.

quality mate i can't stop drooling

what sort of price would it cost to paint a classic
obviously not to that extent
silver car painted the same colour around door shuts as well
some trolley dents in the doors.

painted by someone who could not put enough base on
because in certain light you can see the primer underneath if that
make sense.

if i stripped the lights and black trim and bumpers and spoiler and so on would it make a lot of easier for you+cheaper for me

you can have your thread back
thanks danny

OK, bit of a step backwards..

I was planning on painting the car/parts first, and then bond on the rear arch trims afterwards.

However, I have decided to fit the arch trims first, so it was back on with the rear doors, again, and line up the trims to cut the door opening shut line..

Et viola..

I'll have to leave these overnight for the bonding agent to cure, and then it should be just a case of wiping a bit of sealer in the join and we're ready for paint..

this is going to look stunning when it's finished. i am a stickler for the classic and there's not many newages out there that i'd want, but this has got me wanting one with the wide arches! :

I like my classics too, but I also like newages..

Finally managed to get some paint thrown at it this afternoon..

All masked up and ready to shoot..

And with a coat of the shiney stuff..

Plan on getting the doors, front wings and bonnet blasted tomorrow, so at least it'll look a bit ike a car come the weekend...

Also got a load more underbody components back from the powder coaters today, so with a bit of luck, I might be able to escape some of the 'merryment' of the yuletide season, and build some of my car up

Just altered the standard one to fit the fatter rear wings for the time being, along with maybe a rear diffuser arrangement, and some side bits..

Managed to bolt some shiny bits on last night..

The first bit to go back on, fresh from the platers...

Along with parts fresh from the powder coaters..

Uprated brace thingies...

All the panels are painted now, so it should look a bit more car-like after this weekend..

Also ordered the front and rear brakes this week, should be here by february-ish.

The impreza has pressed steel versions of these as standard, these are uprated tubular replacements.

Always thought those bolt-on braces were a strange part of the design, and after thought?

Looking oh-so-good.

looking forward to New Years Day when you have done a stack more as long as you have a near divorce making row about now!
