OK, with the health and safety out of the way, I got a bit more done...

Blanking plate for the inner wing..

Air filter fitted, along with the original air intake trunking, modified to direct air into the inner wing area..

Air filter will do for now, with a much larger unit planned as and when I reach that point.

Maf tube fitted on cradle, held in lace by large O ring...

Overall shot of the engine bay as it stands now...

Great news really pleased for you!

You do realise once this has finished you will have to do something else to keep us all captivated don't you .............. no pressure then!

Seriously though and I appreciate you still have a things to do to get it to your high standards no doubt, but is the wide arch project going to keep evolving and how the hell would you top it anyway .

Good stuff

Paul

Fantastic job. I'm looking into doing a MY02 wide arch build. When I get around to it I can only hope that it turns out half as good as this one. Great read.

I am another one who has just spent ages reading this thread and my mouth has been wide open the whole time. The car is simply stunning. The attention to detail is second to none, Everthing from the fitment of the arches to the bits that you cant see like the oil cooler duct is nothing short of perfect.

I usually look at modified impreza's and thinks thats awful, why have you done that, blah, blah, blah, but this is faultless! The only addition i would make is a WRC rear wing and perhaps more motorsport style wheels but that is more out of personal preference than anything else.

Hats off to you mate, and how you've kept your cool throughout the build i will never know. I would have got so far then rushed the rest to get it on the road!

Well done mate, You are obviously a master of your trade. Keep up the good work pal!

Hats off to you mate, that's an awesome build!

The way you widen'd the body, made the oil cooler duct and routed that air duct through the headlight were moment of engineering ecstasy!! However, The wire-bound cold air induction hose is going to make the air flow turbulent and therefore restrictive, this is why we spend so much time/money on porting inlet/exhaust ports......you need the flow to be laminar to get the most out of the engine.

Horses for courses but I'd have gone for a WRC style spoiler to go with the wide body and gold wheels too.......but that's just me.

Again, an awesome project and i'll be looking for updates everyday to see how that engine performs....

You're an inspriration to us all
