M6 Vs RA-Vid

Have now seen the vid, but surely what makes the RA so quick (apart from the mods) is the gearing, which is at the expense of top speed.
I would imagine that this is where the M6 would reel you in and hand you your a$$........
Either way, goes to show what an underdog can do, but like you, I'd prefer an M6 any day
No doubt that you've got a quick RA - but sorry chap, you deserve ALL the slating you're getting. Totally the wrong place to be "demonstrating" the car. Your relative is no better.
Still prefer the M6 - either get to your destination quick, but in a Scooby, or arrive later, but in style

I'd have a look on piston heads this morning, some dude in an Enzo made a very similar film and is now banged up, old bill will have a easy time tracking you down if they had the inclination, which being as speed is the current route of all evil in the eyes of the law, i'd take it down, niether car are exactly common.

I can't believe you did that given the road conditions, let alone put the vid on Youtube...
However it certainly shows what a well setup car can do

That M6 really has to be one of the best looking cars ever made... But then I say that about every RS4/6 I see... But seriously, what a car..

Nice undertaking in the dark at the beginning when joining the carrageway(car in middle lane flashes you).
Looked like you didn't have a seat belt on?
Lots of dagling trash obscuring your windscreen.
Bottle of water on back shelf would hurt if you cashed.
Since when has a scooby been about going fast in a straight line? You need to look at some Richard Noble videos they're much more interesting than that rubbish & he wasn't on a busy road.
Apart from that ...........

You didn't need to put the speeds you were doing on screen all you have to do is listen to the wind noise coming in as you pass 3 figures
the faster you go the noisier it gets
I bet the M6 was a little quieter .

A question.
How come you beat him that easily?
I would expect a car with a supposed 140 bhp more than you would do to you what you did to him??
I've always thought from standing a Subaru is quick but once rolling there are a fair few cars on the road that could keep up or beat it.
Your video showed mid range that few cars look like they'd stay with..

The 18G is said to be excellent for midrange use...
Awesome Rally, finally get to see your car in action. Now dont even think of changing the turbo to a 20G!!

For everyone who has commented on driving on roads dagerously, I would like to add that there was no dangerous manouvers nor were there any risks to other road users. Although I respect your opinions that using your car's full potential should be saved for the track, I do not see a problem in accelerating over certain speeds in a straight line when safe.
We all remember the Police officer clocked at doing over 160 Mph while testing his new vehicle....
For all you know this footage could have been filmed on the Autobahn in Germany, which is probably busier than UK roads, but allows any maximum speed, however the concerns would not have been raised if I made a claim that the footage was filmed on the Autobahn.
The footage was released purely to remind our community the potential of an Impreza when setup correctly-There are lots of people outside and within our community who have forgotten this and will be quick to attack the marque and its apparent lack of tuneability.
I appreciate everyone's concerns for the safety of the drivers and for the concerns of being reprimanded. Just shows what a caring BBS this is....

Agreed! Bet theres not many members who have not took there scoob to the limits at least once or twice. And if not why buy a Scoob in the first place. Driving like a lunatic on single carriageways weaving in and out I would never condone. However a quick blast on an open dual carriageway or motorway is something entirely different. Too many hypocrits on here me thinks

If you are going to street race or go that quick, especially in a modified well above it's original spec car, for everyones health please do it in the middle of nowhere, things can go badly wrong in a split second, you could have the skills of Our Lewis (TM), you could still hurt a lot of people.
Enjoy the car, but try not to give us all a bad name in the process.

well done for takin critics (i am one) views on board and not reacting with the usual **** you attitude you often get on here.yes we have all had our arsole driving moments but you have rather set yourself up by puttin vid clip out fella.hope mr plod dont get involved as we all know their driving is impeccable and within gouvernment guidelines!the marque certainly gets a lot of adverse publicity and has in the last few years taken an awfull lot of stick.
the ra is a crackin lookin car and has awsome performance.well done with car mate.keep us up to date with future mods and improvement of driving skills!

When it comes down to it, that was racing on a public road.
No where near as bad as some and most of us have done something a bit silly in the past. Its just the number of accidents in my local area from people showing off is getting worse. Just remember, a judge could put you in prison for it.
Would have been better to get out into the wild's and find an empty streach of road.

Bollox, you just wanted to show off. No one has forgoten about how quick these cars can be, the Subaru Team just won TOTB and had a 1-2-3 at knockhill in Time Attack, and have the first two places in the championship going into the final. If they dont know by now, they arnt into cars and wont care anyway.
