Christ, this has kept me well and truly entertained for the last half hour or so reading through. Amazing progress.

I actually really like the dash, and love the contrast with the black and the blue. A daring choice but definately one that has paid off in my opinion.

So sorry to hear about your son Paul though, but was chuffed to read about the proposed use of the car once it is complete, very good idea.

Gonna be keeping an eye on this one. Nice work mate

Default cheers

thanks james
this is going to be one hell of a scooby. starting to get some really good sponsers and progress is going well. some really tricked out stuff going on this car
will be very busy over the next couple of weeks as a lot of gear is coming then i will sit down and put another big update on the thread.
i think the interior is going to be awesome. when the front end suspension is on i will roll the car out. clean my garage and turn the car round to do the rear interior and suspension etc
glad you enjoyed the thread
cheers mick

you could have just looped most of them in and out at the back of the gauges, soldered and heatshrinked

hi david
yes i could have done. but its just the way i have always done things. made up the looms, base connections were i can get at them. did use heat shrink and there is a lovely grommit provided by subaru. its just a case of each to their own.
cheers mick
ps the wiring will be a lot better than it is at the moment.

Next time?? You going to do it all again like???

Mick.......I never realised you were doing all this to your car. Well done mate, I think it will be a stunner when it's finished.

Hate to think of the cost though!!

right cost shh!!!!! my missus comes on here so we will keep quiet on that lol.
basically the inside will be a total custom install digi dash loads of gauges custom install instead of rear seat. fire ex. nitrous. stereo install. outside new suspension. powder coated subframes. coated headers new turbo. remap. new wheels. brakes keeping the calipers/powder coating. got some good sponsers who will be all over the car when finnished stickers that is. the list is endless hopefully 2008 NBO will be the unveiling if i can get it finished in time. thanks to all that are sourcing special parts for me some from australia.
and no i am deffo not doing this again
cheers mick

Fantastic project Mick and all the best to you and your son.

May I suggest a blue carpet to match the flocking? I think you could end up with a bit too much black inside otherwise and it might be a bit too moody.

Not entirely sure about the blue flocking myself. I think I'd have gone for a similar colour to what was already there i.e. silver/grey and had the carpet done to match but as said before, each to their own

If you're going for a serious stereo as well, how about an ammeter and volt meter in a double pillar pod on the passenger side? Just another idea

Question: How does the flocking affect the passenger airbag? Does it hinder the performance? Hopefully you'll never have to find out but is it safe to do that

got a volt meter but i get what your saying. perrin do a fantastic double pod that sits on the console behind the steering wheel. might put an amp meter and the e boost i am fitting in that. blue flocking decision drove me mad but i thought sod it. it looks really well in the flesh so to speak, did consider silver though.
asked the flocking people. it is a very fine coat of glue and fine nylon fibres and should not make a difference. it will not hinder the airbag going off.yes i would not like to try it myself. full harness belts are going in. so might leave the pass side off
carpet debate is still ongoing all ideas gratefully recieved
thanks mick

Default small update

waiting for parts and ended up going to A+E with severe stomach pains. anyway sorted that out so i thought i would take off the headers. they are being replaced with uneven tubular headers with ceramic coating from TSL.
not a bad job. senser in the maniflod was a bugger to get out. but real easy after that.
all the heat shield stuff will not be going back on

passenger side header

drivers side

sensor that was a little sod

middle section off

got some protection on the intercooler

factory hoseclips are the pants

passenger side off

drivers side off

all three parts together 14 mm socket for the bolts

anti roll bar brackets and assorted PSRS parts painted and clear coated to go back on

right thats it for now parts will all be arriving next week and i am going to be knackered afterwards lol
cheers mick
