new upgrade interior
right now i have a bit of time ie not in the garage i will bring the project up to date as best i can
got the dash and the tunnel all the bits that go with it and a door card which was a chance but came out great.
first job pipework for air cooling system you know what i mean
bloody great it all comes off with the dash so dont mess on with air vents no need.talking about vent put me boost gauge in the drivers side one. great idea not mine and thanks to whos car i saw sorry cant remember but might be the stunner that won NBO best in show cheers
put wiring and pipe though the air intake modded it a bit. this is my first fit with the dash going to remove soon to sort out some wiring issues
certainly will tidy that up pic below is the air vent unit seals the gap between dash and window
next top air vent i was going to put three 60mm gauges in this looked ok. but got the zero sport pod and changed my mind put the clock in the right hand vent but not finished yet.
god that glue looks bloody awful right the dash is back in for good now got the wiring sorted
next is the radio sorry kids no more dvd got something for that space.
aircon and radio panel is next flocked blue
looks better all fitted in
really nice contrast with black
next is the base and rear of transmission tunnel all flocked black
looks really nice no fooking sticky sweets kids
gear surround and general tidy up getting there
the other air vent as normal except the flocked surround
starting toget the look like i was after. flash on camera lightens the blue a bit
gear **** back on starting to look something normal got to wire the new gauges in, including the triple pod and the side gauges not got the pod yet.
right drivers side door card had no idea how this would look but works well dont know what to do with the carpets yet anyone got any ideas ? black or clean them or what
thats as far as i have got so far got some wiring to sort thats the next job.got to get a triple side pod. not to bad to do kills your backside with the seats out. thats was a big mistake next job after the wiring is the dash and the steering surround. got both airbags to tackle and hopefully cbc in banbury have got some gear working after the floods and i can fit the door cards and the switch housing all have been flocked.
if not i will have the hyperflow intercooler to fit and even the tein suspension thats another story.
cheers mick

I would go for a black carpet or rip the lot out and have the floor all painted and cleaned woth a set of nice mats on the floor, abit of a race look if you can see what i mean.
Other than that a black carpet! lol

bit more bloody wiring
as anyone knows putting wiring in any car around the dash etc is a painful experience so many sharp edges
right nice grommet down near bottom of steering column
just right for the wiring for the gauges
it comes out under the master cylinder
quite close to the turbo but you can get the wires tight up behind the brake lines fastened tightly no chafing
now thats done i like using stereo bits and bobs for connecters. there smart cheap and waterproof and look good
its on the firewall panel at the top. i will get some fire protection for the wiring just a overkill but worth the cost
only moan the wiring looms on the gauges are quite short. so it may mean some more connectors so it looks good
cheers mick
im knackered so having a break tommorow might source some carpets any ideas

where did you source the gauges from mick? after recent events, when monies allow, im getting some for the car, to keep tabs on whats under the bonnet.
like the swoosh ones myself. no need for defis in my opinion...
oh... wednesday, make it 3.30 dude. pick mrs up from work at 3pm, so wont be in until 20past-ish...

that looks like its going to be one very tidy car once finished. Loved reading this so far, nice job on the pics and updates.
IMO not sure if polished metal floor would suit / match with the rest of the "cosy" looking interior, Black carpet just seems like it would be more in character, like i said - just an opinion.
