Just to keep you posted guys.
I now have a polycarbonate patern for a classic fitment wingsert. This will need to be trial fitted before the first proto is pulled out.
Most of the messing about was done on the "Newage" wingsert so this should be much less fuss to get right. So hopefully this fits up good and then i can get the first proto done.

Cheers Spally,
Yeah Stu, so am i chap. The polycarb pattern just needs test fitting mate. Im going to slot it to wrap around the boost pipework just for now. Then we dont have to remove anything.
Could do with another classic shell to test fit again thought too.

Lol, i havent Chris... promise.
Ive been waiting on a few bits and bobs which i have most of now. But its just too damn cold to be putting a motor back in at the moment. I have the modified PAS fittings back and my wingsert can go in.
But while its been too cold for me to work, ive been making some parts to sell.
I have new steering wheel and seats to go in too

Ross,
Recaro has been sold and is awaiting collection. In its place are a pair or Prodrive/Sparcos. New subframes to be made. The 2 steering wheels i have are for sale. The retrimmed leather one has been sold along with the airbag. The suede one is still up for grabs.
In their place i have ordered a full quick reales setup from Works Bell in Japan and a black suede Momo Mod.07 steering wheel. The wheel is made to order and should be here in Jan.
On top of that i have my power steering adapters back and my wingsert can go in. Once thats in and the bleedin snow thaws i can drop the motor in.

Works Bell boss is another cracking item I got for mine, although not the quick release. Is that so you can take it off for security or the race type feel?
Have you received your custom silicone hoses yet?
My pressure sender is here so once you're done with yours and have some time, let me know when would be good to sort mine out

I wanted a set of SPAs like yours Ross but these came up instead. Yes the custom hoses have arrived, really pleased with em.
Wheels swap is for security mainly and I fancied a change. Will be nice to have a nice new look interior to get into when she's done.
Let me know when you're free regarding yours. It isn't a massive job. Just call me whenever mate.

A race/rally wheel would look stunning with your dash as well! I just read your post re aftermarker steering wheels... note that with a dished wheel and fixed back seats that unless you have long legs and short arms, the wheel will be right up on your chest and arms very close to your body. Great for track, not so good on long journeys. I really wanted the Sparco suede deep dish wheel but the deep dish is just too uncomfortable. OMP do the same look wheel with a smaller dish which is perfect, I admit that the OMP isn't as nice quality wise but the suede feels good and the steering wheel position is just right - you're welcome to have a sit in and feel anytime you like.
Thank you very much! I'll give you a call to arrange something tomorrow afternoon..

Im not fitting runners on the seats at the momet either, so once its in, its in. My car is built for me so i'll just cater for myself haha.
I think the dish will be fine as ive opted for a very short boss with the snap off hub. So should suit the dished wheel a treat.
Excited to get the motor dropped in too, hopefully if the weather better over the xmas break, i may get it done then

Finally found some time today to actually fit my own wingsert.
All cut areas paited with some black smoothrite. Then the wingsert was bonded in with black adhesive and OEM fixing points. I added 2 lower fixings too using some black plastic trim clips. Its fits nice and looks OEM.
Much nicer than the picture shows to be honest, but its hard to get an idea in these low light conditions.

Some new OMP subframes arrived today for the new seats too so i may have a play with these tomorrow.

Had a little cry tonight as the Recaro finally came out for its new owner. Droped the pair of Prodrives in on their new frames and loose assembled them in before i lost the light.
They look nice and are comfortable, so far so good. Pics to follow once i have some daylight

Pics as promised.
Sorry for the photos, flash plays havoc with low light and dark objects. They look nice in the flesh and feel quite comfy. Only a journey will tell lol.
New steering wheel setup should be here in the coming weeks. These jobs are just tiding me over at the mo till i can get the final bits to drop the motor back in. ("tick tock" "tick tock" lol)

New one is a Momo Mod 07. Same as Olly uses on the Gobstopper as it happens.
Only going down this route as i was the security of a snap off wheel. Ive gone for a full Works Bell setup with their short billet hub and forged Rapfix system.
Its all very slick and pro looking. All in black, wheel is also black spokes with black suede and a medium dish.
Quite discreet to be honest but should look well in there.
Heres the rapfix hub

Heres the Momo wheel.

Just when i think i miss you... er actually no i dont

Should do mate, sat in it for the first time in a long long time today.
Yeah theyre expensive. But then you get what you pay for. All the Works Bell stuff is forged and CNC machined. They use them on all the JGTC race cars in Japan and seems to be the industry standard for the highest quality quick release bosses.
Last thing you want is a steering hub failure lol.
I ordered their short hub adapter, Rapfix II, padle, and the Momo wheel. Used a company here in the UK called Playskool motorsport who are Works Bells UK distributor.
Call them up and chat to Luke if you want a good deal, they were cheaper than the US too.
