Another note, i colected my clutch today from Mocom.

Its a new Exedy Hyper twin plate. It comes with 2x 6 puck cerametalic driveplates, flywheel bolts, a lightened billet flywheel and the prettiest pressure plate available lol.

Im taking the time to show you guys now as it wont ever bee seen lol

I put it on the scales just for fun, the complete assembley comes in a a featherweight 10.2kg

That does look pretty

Just fit an Exedy twin plate ceramic non paddle clutch (to Lunar Ticks car) and the car drives like factory apart from slight more bite on take up but nothing to stall to the car over a standard sti clutch.

Frayz, just a note.

There is a new flywheel spiggot bearing wrapped up with the release bearing. I didn't know this and fit the old one (which was silky smooth) fit the flywheel spending half an hour aligning the two plates perfectly. I wasn't taking the cover off again when i found it and ligning the plates for a second time

Oh, and make sure you are 100% happy with the location of the release bearing and how it clipped into the cover spring locator clip

Mr postman was a hppy chappy today as not only did he have my wrinkle red paint, but also my new RAYS extended wheelnuts.

Cant begin to tell you how light these are, im really impressed with their quality.

But the bit you all want to see is the manifold. Well here it is having just been de-masked. There are one or 2 bits that i will have to clean where the paint bled a little on some edges but on the whole im quite pleased.

Looks almost new and theres no telling where the casting lines or original bosses were that i ground off were.

Enjoy

If you make both pics big by clicking on them you will really see just how much material has been removed.

You do have more money than sence dont you

I know what you mean about the wheel nuts, when I removed some I said to the owner, I wouldn't dare drive the car with them on, there made out of plastic. All five wheel nuts weighed less than one standard nut.

Well not much has gone on recently really

The car is SORN and due to have the motor pulled. However i have one fundamental issue.... im still waiting on my new crank.

FFS its doing my head in and i have done as much as i possibly can but now im stuck and just waiting for that to arrive and i can crack straight on with the build.

Today i tried to keep up my interest in the car by welding a fitting onto my boost pipe for my new Tial 50mm BOV.

Heres a pic just to show.

Other than that its all pretty quiet at camp frayz, and im feeling pretty dispondant with it if im honest

(Please ignore the orange vac line, its just for the purpose of testing it was working until i get new vac lines.)

Maybe it will but at the moment im not enjoying it and not a day goes by at the moment where i dont think about breaking it.

My coilovers have been on order for over a year and KW are taking the ****. However for anything similar specced id have to pay about another grand ontop of what ive paid. So im stuck waiting really.

The crank has been paid for and im waiting for em to come in.

The money ive dumped into the project is astronomical and im not enjoying having things half done... i dont cut corners mate.

I work in a business where we have to deliver on time, and if we dont we get reamed.

I funks me off when others dont deliver when you pay good money for crap service.

give them a gee up mate. hand them a deadline to get the products to you by. put it all in a formal letter and state that you'll be looking for compensation at x amount per day for every day that they don't deliver as you have given them fair and reasonable time to provide the goods. at the end of the day if the money was in your account you'd be earning interest on it. so they should at least cover you for that. even if it's only pence, still better in your pocket than theirs.

Cant be bothered TBH Matt. Shedloads of emails have been sennt to both KW UK and Germany Hq and nobody seems to do anything. Its out of my hands as im not the one doing the talking.

Im well and truely pissed off with it all. I dont want or expect any more or any less than what i pay for.

I dont treat people like c*nts, so i dont expect to be treated like one myself.

Agree not to cut any corners, esp when you have taken it so far!

How come KW are taking so long? I am hopefully having some Variant 3 fitted in a fortnight (on your advice )... Is it these you are waiting for or the Clubsport ones?

I end up chasing people around in my job too... nobody takes ownership of issues, nor do they seem to give a toss. Can be frustrating but don't break it up.... imagine all the lost man hours.

Frayz,

i'm a bit shocked to hear that you have been waiting that long for the KW's, are they a different spec, as waiting that long for a 'standard' product is just rubbish. i assume you have ordered these via shorty?

Again, I am surprised that it has taken Mark that long to sort the crank, is he waiting for another batch to arrive?

Have you tried Alyn at AS performance, he seems to be able to get just about anything.

Chin up matey, the weathers lovely and you have a garage full of other toys to enjoy until the car is done.
